I have a new favorite thing! I have used these curtain rings with clips in several different ways now, and I just HAVE to share it with you.
I have said many times that I think I'm happiest when I'm creating something. This could be sewing, crocheting, coloring, painting, whatever. One of my newest loves is painting. I'm not very good at it, but I just love doing it. I recently decided that I'm going to invest a little more in my love of painting and try to do it right. There's a few things you need to paint like a pro, especially if you're using oil based paints, which I have started to do.
Back when I was in grad school, I made a wreath for myself. I put chili peppers and all sorts of fun things in it. I still have it and still display it, but it's starting to fall apart. I decided to make a myriad of wreaths this year, for myself and for gifts. This is what I came up with!
We've been cookie crazy over here. No, not eating them, although the boys have been devouring their share of cookies for sure, but decorating them! After a cookie decorating party we hosted at church for our preschool/kindergarten kiddos, Froot Loop wanted to decorate some more cookies for his teachers! We decided to make wreath cookies!
My son's kindergarten class made these ADORABLE poinsettias. I was there helping them put them together and they were a lot of fun and very easy to make... Check out how we did them below:
We have a bit of a holiday tradition around here of having advent calendars. I made two of them... one for each kid... a couple of years ago and they're always a huge hit. The boys love counting down to Christmas!
I've got two LEGO obsessed kiddos. Cocoa Puff still prefers to play with Duplo blocks, but he's starting to get the feel of the smaller LEGOS, especially since LEGO released the LEGO juniors kits which are made for kids transitioning from Duplo to LEGO. Since our house is overrun by LEGOs, I made this LEGO table for Froot Loop out of an old piano bench!
One of our Thanksgiving traditions we started is to do a "Thankful Tree." It is such a fun project to do as a family and it makes for a striking decoration as well!
