Earth Day Week: Recycled Wind Chimes Craft from Paper Bathroom Cups

Hello again! I have returned with another recycled craft for y'all to enjoy. This one is a paper cup windchime and it turned out so cute!

Here's the finished product before I take you through it from the beginning.

Here's what I used:
-A foam bowl (we had just used it for goldfish crackers so I gave it a quick rinse first)

-10 used paper bathroom cups (We pretty much NEVER have these on hand, but we were all sick so I switched to using paper cups for a couple weeks)

-String, scissors/ knife, tape, and stickers to decorate

First, I used a small paring knife to cut a small hole in the bottom of the bowl and all ten cups. Cocoa Puff said he wanted to use 10 cups because that's his favorite number. You could probably use anywhere from about 6 to like, 12 or so.

I set them all up for Cocoa Puff to decorate.

He spent quite a while putting stickers on all of the cups.

While he was doing that, I cut a bunch of jute string for the cups and the top of the bowl.

I taped the strings to the inside of the bowl, but Cocoa Puff decided we needed to put stickers on them instead.

We attached all ten strings to the inside of the bowl.

I also threaded string through the bottom of the bowl (well, the top actually as the bowl was upside down) and taped it to the inside.

I threaded the other end of each string through the top of the cup and tied a double knot.

Then, I pulled it so the knot hit the top of the cup and taped it to the inside of the cup.

Then, I untangled all the strings and let it hang!

I LOVE how this turned out.

It's ADROABLE!

I think I cut the strings a little too long, but I can fix that later.

I don't think I would have put any more than ten on this size bowl, but a larger bowl could definitely handle more cups.

We hung this in the living room and we'll leave it up for a while so we can admire it.

Do you drink your 8 glasses of water a day?
