That being said, some of the most serious injuries in car crashes occur with occupants of car seats. In fact, about 2 children under age 13 EVERY MINUTE are involved in a car crash. That's very sobering information for sure. One of the reasons that car seat injuries can be so severe is because many people think they have their car seats installed correctly, but really, they don't. It's hard! In fact, YOU probably don't have your car seats installed quite right. It's absolutely necessary to get a professional car seat check to protect those little bodies!
Happy Monday! Happy Thanksgiving week. Froot Loop has the week off of school and my sister is here (YAY!) so we're going to pretty much have a week long party! Anyway, it's Monday, so that means it's time for Quickie Questions, where I ask y'all a super important questions to get y'all talking in the comments. This week's question:
Thanksgiving is coming! If you need a fun, quick, and easy activity to keep the kiddos busy for a little while on Thanksgiving Day, this might be an option for you! Or, maybe your kids have the whole week off like mine does and you really need something to do with them. In any case, it’s really cute and very easy, so little hands can participate too.
Crafts are great. I'm blessed with a crafty brain and I enjoy doing them on my own as well with my boys. I'm also the planner/organizer/leader of our Wednesday night 3-6 year old Bible study group and I include a craft or two each week. I also do lots of crafts with my boys. Toward the end of this month, we'll start doing Christmas crafts. I come up with a lot of ideas on my own, but I found some ready to go craft kids on Amazon that I'd love to share with y'all.
Yes, You read that right. Wii games for toddlers. We got a Wii last year for Christmas and we have a family game night with it on Friday nights. We have such a good time laughing together. I'm going to recommend a few games for Toddlers and Pre-K kiddos in case you want to start your own family tradition game night.
Please take note: I do not recommend toddlers playing the Wii unsupervised, and as always, make sure you set limits appropriate for you, your kids, and your family. Some kids may be fine with several hours of Wii playing per week, while others can only handle 15-20 minutes. Do what is best for you. Everything in moderation. Go outside, play, do crafts, play board games, do puzzles, cook together. Just spend time with your kids. All I'm saying is that this is another way of doing this.
I’ve already made a few turkey crafts with the boys, but I couldn’t resist making this one too! It was a great opportunity to work on sorting colors and we ended up with really cute turkeys to boot. Both of the boys needed minimal help (just supervision), and I'm so happy with how they turned out!
Emergencies happen. They're just a part of life. There's fires, tornadoes, flooding, terrorism, injuries, and so much more. One of the best ways to stay safe, or at least limit the damage is to have an emergency kit. This is more than a basic first aid kit, although you really need one of those as part of your emergency kit.
Sometimes, I just find the most random and hilarious things. Here's one of them:
Happy Halloween Eve! It's Monday, so that means it's Quickie Question time on the blog, where I ask y'all a super important question to start a conversation in the comments. This week's question:
