Lego my Duplo Blocks: There are SO MANY Duplo Sets, I've lost count of what we have

Ah, Duplo blocks. The toy every child needs/wants/has. They make so many different building sets, and we have several that we love, but perhaps our favorite set is just the plain ol’ bucket of blocks. Both of the boys LOVE their Duplo sets, even though Froot Loop has started to move onto the Lego Junior sets.
Froot Loop has loved playing with blocks since he could hold them. We started with MegaBloks and he just went to town with them.
He built towers and houses and cars and all sorts of fun things with them. He still has them and plays with them in his room. We’ve collected several sets over the years and we have a huge box of them now. One of my favorite memories of playing with him was when we tried to see how big of a tower we could build together. I was HUGELY pregnant with Cocoa Puff and I couldn’t keep getting up and down so I sat on the floor and Froot Loop was the one making the tower super high!
Anyway, once Froot Loop was old enough to handle the smaller sized Duplo Blocks, he had a blast with them. Our first set was the number train that he got when he was two.
He loved to stick the number blocks together and count them. Then, he’d ask me to rebuild the train and he would “zoom” it around the room. He can do it himself now of course, but I loved playing with him. Cocoa Puff even builds and zooms his own trains around now too.
Froot Loop builds a lot of houses and flower gardens. He surprises me constantly with the different things he thinks of to build. The other day it was a flower bed. Before that was a fire truck (which totally looked like a fire truck!). He has also built Door cars (those were pretty cool) and dog houses and all sorts of other things. He has a great imagination. Cocoa Puff typically builds towers and random things on car pieces.
We’ve also used them to work on patterns and color sorting. I’m currently working on comparative adjectives and opposites using them.
My favorite thing that Foot Loop does is builds a “neighborhood” and then brings out his cars or other figurines or his Melissa and Doug Whittle World sets and plays with them all together. He’s so fun to watch. I love watching him make connections and relations about the world and his play sets. I’m glad I was able to stay home with him and watch him learn. I'm glad he's in preschool now though. I get to watch Zeke grow up and learn and make connections now.
Froot Loop got a bunch of different sets for his birthday and for Christmas over the years. He got some money from his Great Grandparents one Christmas and we took him to the store and he picked out three more sets!
We have three forest sets,
My parents got him this AWESOME train that both boys played with incessantly for a few weeks, but now pull out every once in a while. I highly recommend this one. The train track is so much fun, and there are add on kits for it, but you don't really need them that much.
I also ordered the police bike for him for Easter last year. He loved it since it’s a motorcycle and has both a traffic cone AND a stoplight in it!
He also got this adorable ice cream truck that he loves taking apart and putting back together.
The boys got this fire truck for Christmas. Other than them fighting over it at times, they've had fun with this one too. They're both pretty obsessed with fire trucks.
Cocoa Puff got several sets for his 2nd birthday this last summer.
Here's a really cute cupcake that's a super cute birthday present.
He also got this bus to keep in the car for when we go anywhere.
The bird goes in the little box with the bus.
And finally, there's this mini plane in there too.
His favorite is this cars and trucks set (http://amzn.to/2xyri8x).that he actually got for his first birthday.
The animals were also a big hit for those chubby little hands. Both boys still make the weirdest and most creative animals with these blocks.
He also got this that year too.My First House
This police car has seen lots of play too and hours of laughter as the boys hide the "burger bot (Burglar bot)" and find it with the police car.
Cocoa Puff squealed with delight when he opened this birthday present. I couldn't get the pieces out fast enough for him and we had to put it together before he opened anything else. The Flo's Cafe goes very well with the other Cars Duplo sets.
Here's one of them: the Mater's Building which turned out to be a lot of fun. The little chili peppers on the overhang blocks cracked me up. Oh, Mater.
Cocoa Puff has several other kits on his wishlist for Christmas, like this Cars Piston Cup Set, while Froot Loop is ready to start asking for the "big kid" Legos.
The Ambulance looks like a lot of fun.
I hope to write reviews on all of these in the nearish future, but for now, here's an overview. Enjoy!
