This week, we have a double helping of Melissa and Doug play food products.
We love Melissa and Doug products. Their play food is so amazing. It's so durable and well made. The kids have a blast with them.
I guess there's a trend that when a younger sibling is born, to give the older one a present too. One of the presents that Froot Loop got was a fun sensory toy called bristle blocks.
Today, I have a fun review for you. These Melissa and Doug toys are played with at least weekly here, mostly by Cocoa Puff while Froot Loop is at school. I love that they enable to us to build our own little world.
It's no secret that we love Melissa and Doug in this family. One of the toys that my boys have sort of re-discovered recently are their Fill and Spill toys, which basically, are a clear container that holds a myriad of small plush toys that all relate to each other.
We love books in this house. We have the equivalence of a small library of baby and kids books (as well as adult books, especially of the science fiction variety). Here's the thing though: all the kids' books get read! My boys LOVE to read! Cocoa Puff got some really fun books for Christmas last year that are still among his favorites.
I was recently talking to a few moms in our playgroup about Christmas presents that aren't toys. I had mentioned these fun craft boxes from Green Kid Crafts. They have lots of new things now, including single boxes as well as subscription services.
One of our favorite brands of toys is Rhino O Ball. We have a lot of their toys and the company is coming out with new toys all the time. These toys have distinctive circle shaped holes that are absolutely perfect for young babies to grab. Babies can stick their fingers in the holes and really grab ahold of the toys. They are fantastic first toys, but toddlers and preschoolers can get a lot of enjoyment out of them too.
When I was little, my Grandma had a bunch of prisms hanging from her west windows. When the sun would go down, the sun would shine into that front window and through all of the prisms, making rainbows all over the place. It is one of my favorite memories.
Ah, Duplo blocks. The toy every child needs/wants/has. They make so many different building sets, and we have several that we love, but perhaps our favorite set is just the plain ol’ bucket of blocks. Both of the boys LOVE their Duplo sets, even though Froot Loop has started to move onto the Lego Junior sets.
