Pop Lock and Drop It: Anyone Else Remember These Snap Lock Beads? My Kids Love Them!

Here's another example of how sometimes, the most basic of toys are sometimes the best. Fisher Price has a line of toys called Brilliant Basics, some of which have been around seemingly forever, that are just simple toys - no lights, no sound, etc. While we love toys with lights and sound, we also love toys that are quiet and simple.
I found a set of these for 50 cents at our local thrift/resale store a couple years ago when Froot Loop was a baby. I remembered playing with them in our church nursery growing up and I thought my kids would love them. Froot Loop didn’t really care for them when he was a baby, but he still plays with them fairly often now. He does patterns and sorting with them. He likes to make snakes and circles with them.
The suggested age for these beads is 6-18 months, but really, Froot Loop didn’t hardly touch them until the upper end of that range.
Cocoa Puff hasn't really been super interested in these beads, but the other day he did pull them out and was pulling them apart and putting them back together.
I will keep them in the toy rotation, but overall, they are not a huge favorite in our house. They are a good toy to have around because they are very easy for little hands to play with. They come apart and snap together very easily. As your kids get older, you can start asking them to identify colors and sort them, and as they get even older, you can make patterns and shapes with them.
Do your kids like these beads? What kinds of toys do you remember having in nursery or preschool/daycare?
