Review of Wooden Toy Box by Bannor Toys & Little Colorado
ALL. THE. TOYS. My kids have SO MANY TOYS, it's almost embarrassing! I have not done a good job of going through all of them and donating or giving away the toys the kids have outgrown or don't play with anymore, but I DID get a new toy box!
Isn't it CUTE!? And the boys just LOVE it. It is a fun shape that both boys and girls would love, and also not *just* for babies or toddlers. There are choices of whales, elephants, and trains.. They are all cute and just perfect for young kids.
It arrived at our door in a HUGE box (which will be doubled as a pretend pirate ship and/or rocket in outer space I'm sure), fully assembled! Right on! That is one less thing this busy mama has to do... I absolutely do not want to put anything together. Arriving fully assembled gets bonus points in my book, so THANK YOU, Little Colorado!
It is beautiful and sturdy! It is just a plain, wonderful, natural wood color, so it matches any room and any decor. You can paint it if you want to, I guess, but I really appreciated the pretty and natural look. It looks just fine in the boys' room. There is also an option to have it finished in a water-based natural lacquer if you've got no plans to paint or decorate it.
At 26" L x 20" H x 13" W, it is plenty big enough for a bunch of toys. We decided we will be using it for stuffed animals right now because those have gotten out of control in the boys' room. I swear those things multiply when we are not looking! We shoved a ton of their stuffed animals in this box, which helped get them off of the floor. WHY DON'T THE KIDS KEEP THESE THINGS OFF THE FLOOR? I mean, come on: they could put them in their BEDS maybe? We tried using a cheap, fabric toybox, but it broke within a week or so of trying it out. We also tried using the beanbag chair covers to stuff the plushes in, but the kids like to SEE their stuffed animals and play with them regularly, so that didn't work for us either (maybe down the road when they're a little older).
So right now, this toy box is working great for us and getting some of our stuff cleaned up. It is easy for the boys to access and pile their toys in, and it doesn't break or collapse if they decide to sit or stand on it for some reason only they know about.
As a bonus for us, it is at just the right height off the floor to help hold their curtains closed against the wall and keep those little bits of early morning light out of their room. This toy box is hefty and very well put together. It is not going anywhere!
P.S. Y'all GOTTA check out the rest of the awesome things available at Little Colorado. There's tables, chairs, bookcases, storage, and more. Both Bannor Toys and Little Colorado companies are committed to sustainability, real wood construction, and handcrafting products in the USA. These toy boxes and other products are hand-made right here in the U.S. in Denver, Colorado.
Where do y'all store your toys? Are they all over the house like ours are?
