Cocoa Puff is teething hard and he is miserable. He tries to chew on anything and everything he can reach. A silicone teething necklace gives him a safe surface to chew on. They are fashionable enough to wear too.

Some necklaces are long so they reached down to Cocoa Puff when he was nursing. It gave him something to play with while nursing so he didn’t scratch my face off or grab me or my clothes. Plus it distracted him a little bit so he didn’t pull off all the time.

The silicone is soft so it helps apply counter pressure on the hurting gums. This counter pressure helps relieve the pain of the teeth coming in. For extra teething relief, the necklaces can go into the refrigerator or even the freezer. The cold temperature can give extra relief because the cold slightly numbs the gums for a few minutes.

The necklace needs to be washed in warm soapy water or put in the dishwasher before allowing your baby to chew on it. I would also wash it or run it through the dishwasher every few days too to kill germs.

Make sure to get a teething necklace made of food grade silicone. Make sure it is bpa free and fda approved too.

Overall, these are fun, nice necklaces for your teething baby. It helps with the pain and also acts as a fun toy for them. My son loves it. He loves to chew on it. He loves to play with it too. It provides distraction when he gets fussy in church or in the waiting room or in the grocery store or wherever. I do not mind wearing them since they are a pretty color and look like any other piece of costume jewelry. I will wear them even after he is done teething. I also have a few bracelets too. These do less for the nursing distraction, but are easier to keep on me to have as a toy.

I try to get necklaces that have different sizes and shapes of beads so that Cocoa Puff gets a variety of textures to chew on and play with. Bright colors also appeal to his visual sense.

I wish I had thought to have some of these when Froot Loop was teething. He was a HORRIBLE teether and nothing made him happy. I wonder if these would have!

What do your teething babies like to chew on?

Thank you for this suggestion! I’m pregnant now, due in April, and I had no idea these existed.

Teething is the pits! We are through it with all my kids but I wish I had used some of these with my boys, they suffered the worst.

I had a similar silicone teething necklace, but my daughter preferred these rings we got which she could hold herself

my son had a wooden necklace that I could wear, but then untie and he could hold with rings on it. i always wanted to try the silicone ones, but the wood was working

I love silicone necklaces! I wore one when my daughter was teething and she loved it. I also wore a wooden one.

Oh wow, I wish I knew about this before. Great stuff to have. And yes, teething is the worst.

I have used amber necklaces in the past as well as the silicone necklaces. I like that they can chew on the silicone and it helps sooth their sore gums. Some of these I have never seen before so I will definitely have to check them out for my 11 month old.
