Hapeariffic: Here's Froot Loop's FAVORITE Educational Play Food Toys from Hape Toys

Froot Loop has a slight obsession with play food. We have other Hape products and they are so fun as well.
The salad kit is a huge favorite in this house.
The coffee maker and the toaster sets get played with daily.
Froot Loop loves to make us coffee and toast in the morning.
This pita pocket doesn't disappoint either. The pita is two halves made of felt. There are two pieces of cheese and lettuce that are also felt. There are two each of a wood cucumber, tomato, onion, pepper, and meat (sausage? Pepperoni? Not sure exactly what it’s supposed to be), one for each half.
Froot Loop loves taking the pieces out and sorting them by shape or color or whatever. We also play with patterns... Pepper, onion, pepper, onion, etc. Then when he is satisfied with his sorting, he will stuff all the pieces back in and pretend to eat it. It's lots of fun and the wood pieces hold up very well. The felt pieces have been fine so far too.
It’s a smaller Hape food set at only 16 pieces. The salad kit has so many pieces and it’s kind of hard to keep track of them all, especially when a rowdy 3 year old has his hands on them! We have to be careful though and make sure we have all 16 pieces when we’re done playing because Cocoa Puff tried to eat one of the wood pieces once. Fortunately, I caught him before he choked on it!
All of the play food/kitchen sets we have gotten from Hape have been very well made and have held up extraordinarily well. The only piece that has cracked is the blue mug that goes with the coffee maker. It just got thrown one too many times. We can still use it, but I’m not sure how much longer it will last.
I would rate this company up there with the Melissa and Doug brand, making quality wood/felt products that are made to last forever. We have other kits on our wishlists! The crepe kit looks like a lot of fun.
Is your house overrun with felt and wood food/kitchen products? What do your kids enjoy making?
