Wishlist Wednesday: Edgar Allan Poe Coloring Book Edition

Wow, Wednesday again already! Where does the time go?! Here's another Wishlist Wednesday item that I'm really hoping to get for Christmas.

I love coloring, y'all. I must have 50 coloring books ranging from Star Trek to mandalas to trees to national parks to zentangles and more.

But, I do not have one for one of my very favorite authors, Edgar Allan Poe

In case you're wondering whether the book includes your favorite piece, here's the list of included works:
The Black Cat
The Cask of Amontillado
Eleanora
The Fall of the House of Usher

The Gold Bug
Ligeia
The Masque of the Red Death
The Murders in the Rue Morgue
The Mystery of Marie Rogêt
The Oblong Box
The Pit and the Pendulum
The Purloined Letter
The Raven
Tamerlane
The Tell-Tale Heart

Each image is accompanied by a short, atmospheric excerpt from the story. Let your imagination lead the way as you evoke the eerie essence of the master storyteller’s enduring work with pen or pencil.

It has 96 pages. My only bone to pick (yes, intentional choice of words) is that the coloring book is double sided!

Oh, I'm excited!

Who's your favorite poet?

I love these new coloring books. This one sounds really neat and interesting. I agree though that it makes sense to have the pages be one-sided.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 16, 2017 11:26 PM
Well yeah because if you want to color both pages, you'd either have to make a copy or decide which one you're going to do. So sad!
Claudia Krusch - November 16, 2017 11:51 PM
I would love to have a Star Trek coloring book. I had no idea they had a Edgar Allan Poe one. That would be a great gift idea for the holidays.

I have quite a variety, but I think I like the themed ones better.
Erinn Sluka - November 17, 2017 5:13 PM

I haven't read a good nonfiction book in a long time!
Leigh Anne Borders - November 17, 2017 9:23 PM

Mama Writes Reviews - November 17, 2017 9:44 PM
Oh, that's a FANTASTIC book. One of my favorites.

I read Poe with my middle school students, and it's always such a fun unit. I'd love to use this coloring book to get into the right spirit to teach the unit.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 18, 2017 2:05 PM
That is a GREAT idea!
Rachel Loza - November 18, 2017 2:31 PM
Ahhh! Double-sided coloring book!?! Should be OUTLAWED!! :P
Mama Writes Reviews - November 18, 2017 2:32 PM
SERIOUSLY! Ugh! Guess I'll have to buy two!
Meagan Emmons - November 18, 2017 5:45 PM
This is so cool but I dislike the double sided coloring pages because we use the coloring pages as envelopes to send to soldiers so when they open it they have a picture to enjoy. Kinda hard to do that with double sided pages.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 18, 2017 6:28 PM
Yes, I totally agree! I'm pretty sad that the pages are double sided.
Jennifer L. | Modern Chic Mag - November 19, 2017 10:53 PM
It took me a while to get into adult coloring books but once I did I just love them. This Poe one looks like a really fun one. Love that it has an excerpt.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 19, 2017 11:04 PM
I was late arriving to the adult coloring party as well, but now that I'm here, I don't ever want to leave!
Afra Said Ahmed - November 20, 2017 2:27 AM
Wow 50 coloring books? I have 3 and I thought I had too many. To be fair I never used them though lol.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 20, 2017 5:59 PM
Yeah! I was given a LOT once people discovered I like them.

My favorite poet I believe is Edgar Allan Poe. My grandfather was amazing too. He had a few poems published. We should try to get his poems he wrote in WWll published as a book. These adult coloring books are amazing and I will have to check this out. Thanks for sharing the information and they would make great gift ideas too.
Mama Writes Reviews - November 22, 2017 8:13 PM
