That's a load of trash! Here's a garbage load of garbage truck toys for your little garbage truck lover!

Both of my boys absolutely LOVE garbage trucks. The highlight of Cocoa Puff's week is watching the garbage truck come on Monday mornings. He even exchanges waves with all of our awesome garbage men. The kid LOVES garbage trucks. He's asked for some garbage truck toys for Christmas, so here's a few that I found on Amazon:
We will start off this fun roundup with a friction powered truck that lights up and has sound and even a back that opens! This looks like so much fun. It is 10"long, 3" wide and 4" high. It is pretty well rated, but some of the reviews say that the sound is loud and on the annoying side, so we've all been warned..
Here's a truck that's Froot Loop's favorite color: orange! This garbage truck also has lights and sounds, but it also has a moving fork with dustbin and tipping trailer. This one measures about 16 x 5 x 8 inches. It also is very well reviewed at 4.5 stars!
I've at least heard of the brand for this next one: Matchbox! Kids can push the vehicle forward or pull backward for realistic sounds. You can also push down the garbage lever to raise the trash bin and dump recycling in the truck—this action activates sounds, too. The dimensions are about 6.5 x 16 x 10 inches. It has less than 40 reviews at time of publishing, but it's rated 4.8 stars out of five.
The next garbage truck was a birthday gift for Froot Loop. It's made by PlayMobil. The boys have gone NUTS over this toy and they fight over it quite a bit, even though it's techinically Froot Loop's toy and Cocoa Puff has a different one. You can collect recyclables by lifting the recycling container and emptying its contents. It includes the truck, garbage can, and 2 figures. The dimensions are about 13.8 x 4.9 x 9.8 inches and the ratings are great. I was pretty impressed with how detailed the truck is and how well the little garbage can fit inside the back and be lifted up to empty into the truck. The only slight negative is that the pieces do come apart a little easier than I'd like.
Of course we have to have a Melissa and Doug truck on this list! This one is a free-wheeling, sturdy wooden truck. It comes in 3 pieces and the back arm lifts and dumps trash. The dimensions are about 10" x 5" x 3.5" and it's extremely well rated. We've had this one for awhile and this is ALWAYS one of the toys that the boys pick to take with them when we go somewhere.
And here are some fun mini garbage cans to go with all of these fun trucks. This is a three pack of cans: 1 red, 1 yellow, and 1 green. Each can is 2.375" x 1.75" x 2.5." They are the right size to go along with some of these other trucks, but I'm not sure if they fit exactly since I do not have them. The rating is pretty good at 4.1 stars after over 50 ratings, too.
Yes! A Green Toys garbage truck! Cocoa Puff has this one and he pushes it around almost every day. He usually brings it up to the front door while waiting for the garbage truck to stop by. The back of the truck tilts back, but unfortunately, it does fall off if it's tilted back too hard. It's easy to snap back on, but still, that's the only con about this truck. The back door also opens too, and the boys have been known to put their paw patrol dogs in there and drive them around. Like all Green Toys, it's made from 100% recycled plastic milk jugs. The size is 15 x 6.2 x 7 inches and is great for little hands. It's extremely well rated at 4.7 stars after over 450 ratings, and I'd rate it a 4.5 out of 5 stars as well.
Here's another fun truck by the Tonka brand. It's a nice 13.1 x 6.9 x 6.1 inches, but isn't as well rated as the others at 3.8 stars after about 70 ratings. It has lights and sounds as well. If you decide to get this, make sure you buy from an Amazon backed seller and check inside the truck for the garbage can, as several reviews say they couldn't find it.
Froot Loop really wants this Lego Juniors garbage truck. It features an Easy to Build Garbage Truck with tipping function, dumpster and extra bricks for garbage. Accessories include a hand truck, broom and a garbage can. The completed truck measures 3" (9cm) high, 5" (14cm) long and 2" (6cm) wide, and the completed dumpster is 1" (4cm) high, 2" (6cm) long and 1" (3cm) wide. It's a doable 99 pieces, so it's perfect for those beginning Lego maniacs! It has a fantastic 4.6 out of 5 star rating after about 75 reviews. I'm thinking Santa Claus will probably bring this one this year...
Here's a Lego set for kiddos a little older. It's 248 pieces! It features a Garbage Truck with a functional lift that moves up and down, and a container that tilts and opens to empty out the garbage. The accessory elements include 2 fish, a banana, a glass, 5 brick studs, shovel and a broom. The rating is 4.9 out of 5 stars after 132 ratings! The only 2 star review is not about the item itself, but a confused reviewer who was not satisfied with how Amazon did the gift wrapping for the item. All of the 4 star reviews are short and vague, so in my eyes, this item has a perfect star rating! And of course, it's Lego, so how can you go wrong?
Next up, we have a fun truck by Matchbox. The Matchbox Power Launcher Trucks combine launching action kids love with their favorite toy cars, all wrapped up in a real, purposeful large-scale truck equipped to get the job done. There are two trucks in the assortment with a simple manually-activated launching mechanism. You just simply load the car, pull the handle to “crush” it and then push handle forward to launch the car. It measures 12 x 8.5 x 4.8 inches and is rated well, but only has 5 reviews. It does look pretty fun!
Froot Loop already got this Paw Patrol Rocky Recycling Truck for his birthday, but if he didn't have it already, I'd totally get it for him. Cocoa Puff plays with this toy EVERY DAY. It includes the little Rocky figure. The recycling truck has real working wheels, a pivoting forklift, and a rear compartment that opens and closes. It's very cute and pretty fun too. It measures 3.1 x 6.6 x 4.9 inches and is rated 4.8 out of 5 stars after 525 reviews! By the way, it does work well combined with the other Paw Patrol sets. I'm really not huge on having a lot of licensed toys, but I do really like these and they're made well and the boys love them. So if you have a Paw Patrol fan in your family, these are good toys to have.
Here's an adorable Tonka garbage truck. I am not familiar with all of the Tonka characters, but his name is Rowdy! It's a small toy, measuring 4 x 3 x 2 inches and it's not rated as well as the others at only 3.7 stars.
Finally, here's the cutest stuffed garbage truck you'll ever see. Gramma got this for Cocoa Puff last Christmas and it was a huge hit with him. It's super soft and huggable and appears to be very well made. The dimensions are 13 x 7 x 8 inches and it's rated well with a 4.7 star rating after almost 40 reviews. Cocoa Puff loves this thing.
Well, I'm sure there's other Garbage Truck toys out there, but these are my picks!
Is garbage day a favorite at your house too?
