Christmas Gifts Your Kids Can Make: Candy and Candy Cane Sleds Tutorial

I always have a hard time coming up with teacher gift ideas. I mean, they're so awesome and they've changed Froot Loop's life, and therefore, my life, for the better. I owe them so much! I browsed Pinterest for awhile and saw some cute ideas, and then I saw a derivative of this idea. I took the basic premise and made it my own. This is what I came up with.
Since Froot Loop has 3 teachers, 2 therapists, and 1 piano teacher, I thought we'd make 6 of these. This was convenient since the large candy bars came in packs of 6!
Here's what you need to make 6 of these candy sleds:
One box of 12 candy canes
One package of 6 Full size Kit Kat bars
One package of 6 Full size Hershey bars
OR, you could get this variety pack and use those.
One bag of the assorted miniature Hershey candy (the one with Milk chocolate, Dark chocolate, Krackle, and Mr. Goodbar).
You also need clear wrapping tape!
What I did first was tape the candy canes to the bottom of the Hershey bar. The candy canes act as the sled's skids!
Then, I taped the Kit Kats on top of that.
Next, I taped three of the minatures (a milk chocolate, krackle, and Mr. Goodbar) on top of the Kit Kat, and then another three minatures on top of those so it looked like a stack of presents on top of the sled!
Then, since the milk chocolate mini bars had these really cute snowmen on them, I taped one at the front of the sled so it looked like the snowman was driving! I think next time, I'll find the little chocolate bars that are actually shaped like a snowman and attach those instead.
Next, I taped two more minatures on top of the two rows of three miniatures to sort of complete the stacked presents look.
I love how they turned out and I hope his teachers love them too! I'm going to have Froot Loop sign a Christmas card to go with them.
What's your favorite candy?
