My review of Stitch Fix (and how to try it for yourself FREE!)

Okay, so I got a deal (which I will pass along to y'all) where I got to try Stitch Fix for free. Basically, this meant they waived the $20 stylist fee included with each shipment. So, that meant that if I didn't like anything in my box, I wasn't out any money, but if I did like something, then hey, cool! New clothes. (Usually, you spend $20 per box on the stylist fee for each shipment. If you decide not to keep anything, you pay the $20 stylist fee, but if you do keep one or more items, it is credited toward your items.)
So, I went to Stitch Fix to sign up!
First, what is Stitch Fix? It's an online clothing shop and affordable personal styling service rolled into one. It's especially for women who need dressy clothes for work or special events and don't have the time or desire to spend hours upon hours shopping for and trying on outfits.
Here's what you do:
Sign up for a Stitch Fix Account (HERE)
Fill out your Style Profile. You'll put in information like your clothing sizes, your favorite colors, prints, patterns, and styles, and whether you want more business or casual or formal wear. You can even share a Pinterest inspiration board with them.
Checkout and pay your $20, unless you use my link and get your first stylist fee waived. In future shipments, you only pay that $20 if you choose not to keep any of the items you receive.
Your Stitch Fix stylist will take your info and put together a box of clothing. You can even choose if you want to receive jewelry, shoes, scarves, or other accessories.
You'll get your Stitch Fix box in the mail and have a few days to try everything on and make sure it fits and is what you wanted style and design-wise. Keep what you want, and send back the items you don't want in the pre-paid postage envelope provided in your package.
So, I thought this was too good an offer to pass up! I filled it all out and put in my preferences and waited impatiently for my box to arrive.
A few days later, I got a package slip in my PO Box and there it was! My Stitch Fix box!
I was soooo excited!
I hurried home and opened it up.
The first item in the box was a really pretty pair of earrings. They're not quite my style and they're a little too big. They were also $28. So, I opted to pass on them.
Next was this pair of pants. They fit well and looked well enough, but I couldn't justify spending $78 on a pair of pants, as nice as they were. Passed.
No. Didn't like this at all. $48. Pass.
I LOVED this cardigan. I really did. I liked the color and the size and the fit. It was very soft and comfortable. I almost kept it and I sort of wish I had, but I thought $48 was too much to spend on a cardigan. I should have kept it. Humph.
Then, there was this long sleeve top. The color is great and it fit okay, but I really hated the pockets. They had this really weird snap thing on them and it was just not my style at all, so I passed on this as well. It was $48.
So I ended up empty handed. I'm pretty sad about it, but I'll try again in February since I opted to only get quarterly Stitch Fix boxes. Next time, I'll have to pay the $20 stylist fee, so maybe I'd be more likely to keep something in the next box. However, the styling gets better with each box, so next time, there's sure to be something I just LOVE in it!
Overall, I'm really glad I tried Stitch Fix. It was fun to try on the clothes and I know I'm hard to style, so I'm going to give them another chance. If you want to try Stitch Fix for free, click on this link HERE and have your first $20 stylist fee waived! That's like getting your first box for FREE, and who doesn't love FREE!? (Obviously, you have to pay for whatever items you keep, but you don't have to pay the styling fee.)
What do you hope to get in your Stitch Fix box?

Perhaps, I will stick with Poshmark!
