A Toddler's Guide to Making a Valentine Cow Craft With Mama

Hiiiii! My name is Cocoa Puff. I like cows. (They say moo!) Mama and I made a Cow with hearts for Valentine's Day! Do you want to make one too?

You need to tell Mama you want to make a craft. Then she will get it out for you. We had:

Large Paper Plate

Pink and Brown or Black Construction Paper

Glue Stick

Large Googly Eyes (Mama's note: We originally put the smaller ones on, and they didn't look as good as the big ones)

Scissors

Marker

Mama needs to cut out some hearts for the cow spots (using the brown or black paper). Make sure to tell her how many you want and to help her count them for you. You need two small hearts for the nose and two ears too. The cow needs to hear so she knows when it's time for dinner or when the farmer wants her to come home. Mama will know how to cut them out.

You also need a pink oval and two pink hearts. The hearts are for the ears. Ask Mama to cut them out for you. The oval is the cow's nose so she can smell her food. Cows eat grass! And hay! And COOKIES!

Make sure you have all of your pieces and play with them first before gluing them.

Glue the two small brown hearts to the pink oval to make the nose. Make sure you get glue all over the table so the hearts really stick.

Draw a smiley mouth so your cow has a happy face. Mama will help you if you ask her. Cows bite stuff so they need a mouth. Oh and they need a mouth so they can MOOOOOOOOO and talk to the horseys who say NEIGH NEIGH.

Put glue all over the plate. Make sure to tell Mama you can do it all by yourself and then get mad when you get glue on your fingers.

Put the nose on the plate and then make sure to take a fire truck break. WEEWOO WEEWOO WEEWOO! Vroom vroom.

Glue the small pink hearts to the ears and celebrate because YOU DID IT! Then run and tell Daddy.

Glue the ears to the plate. Mama might need to help you with this part because we put glue on the back of the plate.

All that hard work means it's time for another fire truck break while Mama puts the eyes on the cow. Cow needs to see too. She needs to see the horseys and sheeps and goats. And she needs to see more cows and pigs.

Glue the hearts to the cow's face.

Put them all over the face. Cows like their spots. It makes them pretty. Cows are so cute.

Decide your cow needs one more spot and ask Mama to cut another heart for you. Glue it on the face.

DONE! Run around the room with it and don't forget to show Daddy!

My brother made one too. He did not make one at school so Mama needs to help him make one at my house.

Do you like cows? What's your favorite farm animal?
