When I Grow Up and Become an Electrician... How Froot Loop is training to be an Electrical Engineer.

So, we’re more than 3 months from Christmas, and one of the things Froot Loop is still playing with is his Learning Resources City Engineering & Design Building Set. This kid. He really wants to be an elecrical engineer. He is getting so good at visualizing and building things...
I got this for Froot Loop for Christmas, along with a couple of other sets of the Learning Resources Engineering sets.
The kid loves to build things and he is extremely creative.
He doesn't really build the items on the cards, but that's okay. The things he creates are pretty amazing.
The different sets do work well together, as well as separately, which is pretty cool. If you’re going to start with just one set, I think I’d go with the city building set one to get the taste of it. I think that the pieces are more suited for “free play” in this set than the other sets too.
The Skate Park set is so unique! Both boys are fascinated by skateboards and love watching the neighborhood kids skateboard. Froot Loop hasn’t tried it yet, but Cocoa Puff is DETERMINED to learn how to skateboard, and wants to learn RIGHTNOW.
The cards don't seem as complicated in this set.
This one is really unique I think. I am loving the skating ramps!
The Playground set has a LOT of pieces, but it’s MY personal favorite.
I think it’s fun building the different elements of the playground.
That tire swing is soooooo cute! And the slide! Squeeeee!
Finally, we have the Tree House set. In my opinion, this is the “easiest” of the sets to work with, but none of them are really “hard.”
Here's some of the cards from this set.
Look how adorable this is!!! Froot Loop loves all the unique parts to it like the bridge and the ladder.
The colors are bright and fun and are easy for young hands to manipulate. While Froot Loop is at school, my Cocoa Puff also tries to build with the sets. He can't do much else than stick the legs into the bases and build a “tower” but he has fun with it.
I also like to build with this set. I don't know why, but it's fun.
So, it's fun all around!! Buy just one set, or several, but it's good STEM for young kiddos. If you kids love building with Legos or TinkerToys or Lincoln Logs or anything, this is another great toy to add to their arsenal. I like that you can choose to build what’s on the cards, or you can go “rogue” and free build.
Do/did you build the Lego kids as instructed or did you go freestyle?
