We all Scream for Ice Cream: a Review of Melissa & Doug's Sweet Toppings Dessert Set

If you’ve been a reader here for any length of time, you know my kids LOVE Melissa and Doug products. Well, I’ve got another product to sing praises about today. 

This is the Melissa and Doug Sweet Toppings Dessert Set. It has five containers of pretend ice cream toppings: 

Chocolate syrup, Strawberry Syrup, Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream, and Sprinkles! 

There’s also a fun card that is sort of a menu card. 

I like the syrups and sauces and whipped cream because there’s a string inside them. You can open the bottles and pretend to “squirt” it onto your ice cream. The boys often have “squirting wars.” At least I’ll allow these pretend ones. I’m not about to allow chocolate syrup all over my house… (Maybe next summer, I’ll get them some bottles of syrup and let them go at it outside!)

The rainbow sprinkles rattle around the jar, which is pretty fun. 

Now, these are made of plastic (not wood), but they’re still very durable. 

I think these would be a lot of fun to go along with the ice cream counter. Cocoa Puff got this counter for his birthday this year but we haven't tried to play with them together. 

I like to place an “order” for some ice cream and let the kids make it for me. We have the magnetic ice cream play set, and these pretend dessert toppings go very well with those too.
