Halloween Painting Craft: Who Knew A Piece of Paper, Cookie Cutters, and a Little Bit of Paint Could Be So Much Fun!?

The boys and I did a flurry of painting lately. The boys' favorite was painting a Halloween picture using cookie cutters!
This is SO EASY to do, and kiddos from babies through elementary school love doing it. I think it has something to do with using something that's usually only used in the kitchen to make some messy art!
Here's what we used:
[Acrylic Paint](asin:B00ATJSD8I] I just used Black and Orange paint for this one since the cookie cutters were halloween themed.
I gave both of the boys two sheets of the construction paper. I squeezed a bit of the orange paint onto a disposable plate and added a tiny bit of water to it. Then I stirred it around with a toothpick to even it out.
Then, I gave them the cookie cutters and had them dip them into the paint and scoot it around a little bit and then stamp it onto the paper.
Froot Loop decided to keep his black and his orange prints separate, while Cocoa Puff mixed and matched his colors. Another thing I admired was that Cocoa Puff turned the cookie cutters over so that the rolled edge was on the bottom, which gave it a thicker print! So smart!
I even did one myself! This white paper with the orange and black prints mixed is mine! They just looked like they were having too much fun so I wanted to join in. Plus, it allowed me to use up the rest of the paint.
I plan on doing this again for other holidays and even just because. I have a whole box of cookie cutters, both metal and plastic, so we can do this over and over again! I have a ton of different colors of paint too.
I may even do this with my preschool Bible study group at church. It's messy, but it's FUN!
What other kitchen objects do you use to make art and crafts? I'd love some more ideas!
