Quick and Easy Poinsettia Craft for Kids

My son's kindergarten class made these ADORABLE poinsettias. I was there helping them put them together and they were a lot of fun and very easy to make... Check out how we did them below:

Materials:

Red, Green, and Yellow construction paper

Brad Fasteners

The majority of the prep for this was cutting out all the paper pieces for a class of 20 kids... Each kid will need three red pieces, two green pieces, and a small yellow piece. The red and green pieces ended up 12" x 4.5".

Then, the kids each got a piece of cardstock with this general shape to it... they were then supposed to trace it onto all 5 of their pieces of paper and then cut them all out.

Then, they each cut out a small yellow circle to put on top.

The next step is inserting the brad fastener. First, put the middle of the yellow circle onto the brad fastener. Then, put the three red pieces, then finally, the two green pieces. Extend the back wings of the brad fasteners, then fan out the paper petals and leaves so they look like the picture. SO CUTE! SO EASY! Great for a classroom or just at home.

What's your favorite Christmastime flower?

Since poinsettias are poisonous, this is a great alternative that is safe decor for pets and children.

That is such a cute craft! I've also been thinking of things that I could do with my kids to decorate the tree with their little crafts. and keepsakes. This is a cute one but will have to be done on a smaller scale.

This sounds like a fun project especially with the help of a cardstock template that can be traced on craft paper. My son likes to make origami flowers for christmas decorations around the house.
