Ten Things: Ten Things I Bought To Help Me Paint

I have said many times that I think I'm happiest when I'm creating something. This could be sewing, crocheting, coloring, painting, whatever. One of my newest loves is painting. I'm not very good at it, but I just love doing it. I recently decided that I'm going to invest a little more in my love of painting and try to do it right. There's a few things you need to paint like a pro, especially if you're using oil based paints, which I have started to do.
Okay, so first, to paint, you need some PAINT! You can pick from Oil, Acrylic, or Watercolor. Different paints do different things, so the paint you pick needs to match the painting task you have in mind.
You also need Paint Brushes! There's also a myriad of brushes out there, but I have these two sets: Bigger and Smaller. Again, different brushes do different things, but I like the combination of these two sets. There's a nice variety.
This is one of the easiest ways to get those brushes clean: Washer Bucket with screen
Of course, you need something to paint on! I've purchased these two canvases, and I don't really have a preference yet Canvas Set 1 and Canvas Set 2
My advice to you is that if you're going to be at all serious about your painting, invest in a good mid-grade easel. Just do it. Easel
If you using oils, you can get some really unique techniques done with palette knives. Here's a set that I have as well. Painting Knife Set
I haven't found a Paint Palette I LOVE yet, but this one is functional and works well enough.
Especially when using oil paints, you'll want some Paint Thinner. Make sure it's odorless and made for artist paintbrushes.
Even though I usually paint out in the garage, I still try to cover my work area with a drop cloth.
If you're going to clean your brushes using the Bob Ross method, I recommend using a bucket with Brush Beater Rack: Bucket Rack
What do YOU like to paint?
