You Make My Heart Melt! We made a Melty Bead Heart for Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! One of my Valentines and I made this sweet melty bead heart together. It was a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day together.

If you haven't crafted with Perler Beads, you are seriously missing out! They're so much fun, and a really unique way to express creativity. Froot Loop and I wanted to make something for Valentine's Day, so what better than a pink and red heart?

It's your standard setup: melty beads (Perler Beads), a heart base, and the ironing paper.

We started by putting a row of pink beads in the middle, all the way around.

Then, we put red on the outside of the pink.

This is a GREAT way to really work on those fine-motor skills and prewriting muscles in those little fingers, by the way.

We continued alternating rows, putting pink around the outside, and another row of red inside the center pink row.

Then we finished our heart with pink in the middle.

Then, as you probably know, put the ironing paper on top and find a flat surface to iron.

Then, iron on medium for 10-20 seconds until the top of the beads starts to melt.

This is what you want the beads to look like. Don't iron them too much!

Then, take the paper off and you've got a really cute heart!! We're going to put a magnet on it and put it on the refrigerator.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
