Ten Things: Our 10 Favorite Vegetables

I'm running low on energy and inspiration today. Here are our 10 favorite vegetables as a family!
Our Favorite Vegetables
Carrots: We all love to snack on baby carrots right out of the bag. I also love shredded carrots in my salad. They also make a great addition to practically any soup.
Lettuce & Spinach: Salads galore! I also LOVE wilted spinach on just about anything, especially pizza! There's tons of different kinds of lettuce, and some of them have some REALLY good flavor, unlike that plain ol' iceberg stuff.
Squash: I couldn't decide between acorn and butternut squash. Our favorite way to make acorn squash is to bake it, then add some cut up apples, oats, a little butter, and a little brown sugar and bake it some more so that everything gets caramelized in the middle. MMMMM. As for butternut squash, I love making SOUP out of it.
Green Beans: My FAVORITE green beans were right out of my grandma's garden. The SMELL of them... oh, there's nothing like it. And of course, the taste was phenomenal. I LOVE making green beans with red potatoes.
Peas: While I could eat sugar snap peas right out of the bag all day, I do LOVE green peas in nearly everything, especially curries. Mmmmm.
Brussel Sprouts: YES, brussel sprouts! Bake them with a little butter and garlic and whatever other spices you want. They're SOOOOO good and SOOOOOO good for you!
Broccoli: Another controversial one here! Steamed broccoli has a bad rap, but I'll tell you, it's delicious. Just don't overcook it, or yuck!
Zucchini: zucchini is amazing. Just slice it and bake it with a little seasoning. Mmmmm.
Sweet Potatoes: baked sweet potatoes are amazing. They don't even need butter, but that's your call. I have an amazing recipe for sweet potato mash with carrots and orange juice concentrate. AMAZING.
Potatoes: FRIES! BAKED! CHIPS! Just don't mash them or Cocoa Puff won't eat them. Weirdo.
BONUS: When I asked the boys what their favorite vegetable is, one of them said CORN! That is fine; however, corn is really not a vegetable... it's a grain. But, I'll include it on the list! Corn is amazing. My favorite is to grill it on the barbeque so that it's slightly charred in some places and then eat it when it's BARELY cool enough to bite into.
What's your favorite vegetable and what's your favorite way to prepare it?
