BenQ ScreenBar Lite

This is for people on the go, toting around their laptops from place to place. You never know when you sit down to work whether you're going to be able to comfortable see your workspace!
I got my hands on the BenQ ScreenBar Lite, an ultra-lightweight e-reading LED lamp made for laptops. I previously reviewed the BenQ ScreenBar Plus LED e-Reading Lamp and BenQ ScreenBar e-Reading LED Task Lamp, both made for LCD desktop monitors and I love both of them.
What if you need better lighting while on the go? The BenQ ScreenBar Lite brings all the benefits and features of BenQ's other ScreenBar products to a light specifically made for a laptop. It even comes with a plastic case for storage.
The ScreenBar provides a nice, wide light over my laptop and surrounding work area, without any glare on my screen. It's perfect for when you don't have great lighting. Its auto-dimming features helps when you're in a location with changing lights.
The interface is easy to use and reach. The touch-sensitive buttons are along the front-facing panel. From right to left, you have Power, Auto-Dim, the brightness and temperature control, and the Favorite button.
The brightness and temperature are easy to control -- tap the brightness or temperature button and then use the left or right arrow buttons to make adjustments. With temperature, you can adjust the look of the light from a cool white to a warm white. When you make any adjustments while using Auto-Dim mode, that mode turns off so the bar will use your manual settings.
The ScreenBar remembers your last setting when you power it off so it'll return to that setting the next time you plug it in and power it on. You can also get your settings to exactly how you like them and tap-and-hold the Favorite button. Now you can make adjustments, or use Auto-Dim mode, and return to your favorite setting by tapping the Favorite button.
The light is attached by a clip; there aren't any screws or tape that could mess up your laptop. The laptop screen needs to be thinner than 8mm (0.3") and the bezel, or frame, around the screen needs to be at least 9mm (0.35") for the clip to work.
Power is supplied by a USB cable that you can plug in directly to your laptop or to a USB connector plugged into an electrical outlet.
Since the ScreenBar Lite is asymmetrical, more light comes toward you rather than toward your screen. You can adjust the ScreenBar to aim more toward your laptop screen or you, depending on how your laptop is angled. It moves a full 85 degrees! I don't have any glare on my screen.
I love all three BenQ ScreenBar products I've tried -- the BenQ ScreenBar, ScreenBar Plus, and now ScreenBar Lite. I use them daily. The ScreenBar products are easy to install and use.
The BenQ ScreenBar Lite helps me enjoy my laptop -- whether its for work or play -- no matter where I'm located.
