Grazing in the Grass: Review of Graze Snacks (Now that I've had a Chance to Try them!)

It came! My free sample box from Graze arrived yesterday! I was very excited to receive it and open it!
It came with two plastic straps around it so it wouldn’t fly open during transit. Nice touch! My name was even on the box!
When I opened the box, I saw four small containers of snacks and some papers. They were basically how to refer friends. There was also the ingredients and nutritional information.
Onward to the snacks! I received raspberry & coconut muffin, bountiful berries, salted fudge & peanut cookie, and pizza margherita!
I dug into the pizza margherita right away! It had basil crustini, cheese cashews, and mini tomato breadsticks. The snack container had 120 calories.
Mmm. The basil crustini wasn’t incredibly flavorful, but I definitely tasted basil. It was nice and crunchy too. The cheese cashews did not taste like cheese at all though. There was a very subtle hint of a cheesy aftertaste, but if I didn’t know it was supposed to be cheese, I wouldn’t have guessed at all. The tomato breadsticks were crunchy and also very subtly flavored. Overall, I liked everything, especially together, but individually, there wasn’t much flavor. The basil crustini was my favorite part. I would get it again.
The next snack I tried was the salted fudge & peanut cookie. It’s a new flavor and it is a good source of protein. It has salted peanuts, redskin peanuts, vanilla fudge, and mini chocolate cookies.
The peanuts were very good. I’m not sure why they needed two different types of peanuts, but they were good. The vanilla fudge was delicious, but I wish the tiny, itty bitty cubes were just a little bit bigger. The chocolate cookies were very good, and when mixed with the peanuts, were delightfully sweet and salty. It was very very good. I will absolutely leave this on my list.
My only complaint about this mix was that the corners of the fudge were really sharp! Be careful.
Onward to the bountiful berries mix! This one has 110 calories and is a good source of fiber. It contains dried goldenberries, green raisins (from green grapes, I’m assuming), blueberries, and cranberries.
It is a delicious mix! I wish there was more of it! The blueberries were especially tasty. I hadn’t eaten goldenberries before, but I really liked them!
Finally came the raspberry & coconut muffin mix. It says it’s a good source of vitamins and minerals. It contains raspberry flavored cranberries, coconut flakes, amaretti drops, and almonds.
The coconut flakes were good, but they could have been just a smidge smaller since the almond slivers were on the small side. The raspberry cranberries were really good, and the amaretti drops were good, but almost too sweet on their own. Eaten with the other pieces of the mix, though, the amaretti was great.
So, all in all, I liked all four snacks. The portion sizes were great. The diversity of the snack selection was great too. The snack mixes themselves were unique and very tasty.
I like that the box is biodegradable and 100% recyclable. It was also made from trees from a sustainable forest. The little plastic containers that the snacks come in are also recyclable. I am actually going to reuse them as paint trays.
My one little gripe about this Graze box was that the containers are not resealable. I wanted to try a nibble of all four snacks, but each container has a sealed, pull off plastic lid made of thin plastic, so once it’s open, you pretty much have to eat it within a day. I left the packages open overnight and reclosed the box and they were still fine the next day.
I have changed my subscription so that I’m not getting a box every week. I simply can’t afford $11.99 a week, although the snacks are VERY good. You can make your subscription weekly, biweekly, or monthly (which is what I did).
After you get and try your snacks, you can login to your account and manage your next box. If you change the snacks you receive from “try” to “like,” you will get those regularly. If you change it to “love,” you will get those often. Leaving it on “try” means you will get it occasionally.
I like the randomness of the snacks. You have an arsenal of snacks that you hand select for them to choose from, and then from that selection, you get your snacks! I love that. It has an element of surprise!
