Such a Cut Up: Review of Toddler, Preschooler, and Child-Friendly Nylon Cooking Knives to Help in the Kitchen

Froot Loop loves to help me in the kitchen. I found these awesome nylon kitchen knives so he could help me cut soft food.
He has so much fun helping me. The knives won’t hurt him but they do cut through grapes and string cheese and celery and bananas and berries. It gives him the practice he needs without the risk of blood.
There are three knives, one large, one medium, and one small. Each has a serrated edge. They have a textured grip that makes it easier for small hands to use and yet they are comfortable in my hands as well.
I like that these aren’t just “Miniaturized” or “girlified” versions of knives. These are the same size as the knives I use. They aren’t toy knives like he plays with in his kitchen. These are learning tools and he will use the same muscles and the same skills when he upgrades to real knives in a few years.
It may not look super pretty when your kiddo is done chopping, but that’s okay. These are for learning, not presentation!
I also am interested in the rest of the line of Curious Chef products. They have several other products.
I love this nylon pizza cutter. I am getting it for his birthday. He loves to help me make and eat pizza. This way he can cut his own!
Here’s a prep and measuring set. I wonder though, aren’t the measuring cups and spoons just the same as mine? The spoon and prep bowls look just like mine too. Couldn’t I just get him a set of his own measuring tools and not pay almost $20 for it?
This veggie prep set is pretty nice.
I like these oven mitts. They are made for small hands and will actually hold up to heat. I think I’m going to get him these too!
These cute tongs are made smaller for little hands and hold up to heat well. These might be fun to cook with!
This is the perfect spoon for Froot Loop to start with. This is totally going on his wish list.
I can’t wait to get some of these other products and have Froot Loop start helping me more and more in the kitchen. Some of my favorite memories are cooking with my mom and my grandmas. I want my kids to have those same fun memories!
Do you cook with your kids? What are your favorite dishes to make together?
