Puddin' Face: This is what Happened When I Let My Toddler Do Whatever He Wanted With Pudding and Jello Cups

Oh what fun! I needed to keep Cocoa Puff busy for a few minutes so I could get some dishes and stuff done. A few days ago he found and decimated Froot Loop’s chocolate pudding cup. I stripped him down to his diaper and put him in his high chair. I gave him a pudding cup.

The aftermath of the chocolate pudding!

I gave him vanilla to try this time.

After he played with that and ate it for awhile, I wanted to see how he’d act with jello! It was pretty funny.  I gave him a jello cup and he had no idea what to do with it at first.

He kind of poked at it a few times, then he grabbed it with his whole hand. I tried to convince him to put some in his mouth. Eventually he did.

After that, he went crazy! There was pudding and jello everywhere and it was a good time!

Then he got a bath in the kitchen sink and the high chair got a good hose down.

I’ll definitely do this again. The snack packs are cheap enough to use as sensory materials, but I could also make my own too.

Do you use food as sensory play?
