Amazon.com released their 2016 Holiday Toys! Here is the 0-24 month edition highlights!

Manhattan Toy Winkel Rattle and Sensory Teether Activity Toy

  • This mesmerizing maze of safe, soft, continuous tubes is perfect for a teething baby to chew on
  • Safe, teethable plastic loops are BPA free
  • Visually appealing to babies, it also promotes clutching and two-handed play, and the middle piece contains a pleasing rattle sound
  • 4.5-Inch in diameter, for ages 0-24 months

I never had this teether for my boys, but I was always fascinated by it. My boys didn't really like teethers a whole lot, but they did love to grasp and hold things, so this one would probably have been an awesome one for them. This is a great gift for babies!

Munchkin Float and Play Bubbles Bath Toy, 4 Count

  • Includes two fun characters and two whirly toys that spin and rattle
  • Each bubble helps stimulate baby's sense of sight, hearing and touch
  • Textured rings move freely around the bubbles
  • Bubbles float in water
  • 4 plus months

My boys love bathtime. They love bath toys. They really love anything that floats. We have a different brand of these and they are a favorite bath toy still. They even make it out to the pool in the summertime.

It's almost time to pull this one out again! I bought this for Froot Loop's first Christmas almost 4 years ago now! I had it set up as just a fun Nativity display the first two years and I let him play with it some last year. I'm debating this year making a sort of advent calendar out of it, where the boys can add one piece to the set each day and make it play the music. This is a fantastic set and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Melissa & Doug K's Kids Pull-Back Vehicle Set

  • Soft pull-and-go vehicle set for babies and toddlers
  • Includes 4 soft vehicles: school bus, family car, fire truck, police car
  • Soft, lightweight pieces are easy for young children to lift and roll
  • Develops these skills: sensory, fine motor, gross motor, logical, creative, linguistic, emotional, communication and self-esteem

Anyone who loves wheels will love this set. Our church nursery has it and the kiddos always fight over them. Good thing there's 4 cars to choose from!

  • Blocks are big and easy for little fingers to assemble
  • Compatible with all Mega Bloks First Builders sets for endless building possibilities

This is one of those toys that you just have to have. It's almost a rite of passage for little ones. Stacking and building toys are some of the best toys little ones can have because it develops so many essential fine and gross motor skills as well as creativity and hand eye coordination.

Munchkin Twisty Figure 8 Teether

  • 4 different teething surfaces
  • Develops motor and sensory skills
  • Easy for baby to grasp, hold and chew

This is a fun teething toy. Our nursery has this one too and Cocoa Puff always loved to hold onto it. I have bought several of these for baby showers and they're always a big hit.

Learning Resources Smart Snacks Shape Sorting Cupcakes

  • A delicious way to a strong academic start, these mouthwatering cupcakes support school readiness by introducing colors, shapes and attributes for children to identify and learn
  • These 8 two-part cupcakes pull apart to reveal a circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, hexagon, star, and heart
  • Match the shapes on the 2-part cupcakes and then match those shapes to the pan bottom
  • Eye-hand and bilateral coordination are used as children connect the two parts of each cupcake
  • Set includes: plastic pan and eight 2-part cupcakes measuring 2”H x 1½” in diameter

Froot Loop got these for Christmas 2 years ago. He STILL plays with them a lot, and now Cocoa Puff does too. It is a fantastic toy to learn colors and shapes and hand-eye coordination. Plus, they're cupcakes! Who doesn't love cupcakes!?

Battat Bristle Blocks 112-Piece Basic Building Set

  • Bristle blocks feature soft, interlocking bristles that stick together at any angle for frustration-free building.
  • This basic building set includes 112 pieces in assorted sizes and vibrant colors for hours of imaginative play.
  • Eight (8) functional wheels add motion to objects, providing additional options to young builders.
  • The blocks in this set are compatible with Battat Spinaroo and Stackadoo bristle block sets.

We have a different brand of bristle blocks, but they're a lot of fun. The boys don't play with them as much as some other toys, but when they do come out, I'm very impressed with the things that they build with them!

Fisher-Price Little People Noah's Ark

  • Noah's Ark has animals for toddlers to discover animals
  • "Deck" is removable for additional nurturing play and easily snaps back on for storage
  • All pieces store inside of the Ark
  • Includes Noah, two elephants, lions and zebras
  • Great for any Little People collection

Here's another fantastic Little People set. I found this used at a resale shop and snatched it up. For weeks, this was Froot Loop's favorite toy. He would match up the animals with their mate and spend 20 minutes at a time just putting them in and taking them out. It's very cute.

Skip Hop Bandana Buddies Activity Toy, Puppy

  • Ages 3+ Months
  • Multiple fabrics and textures
  • Rattle ring and chime
  • Attaches to stroller, car seat or infant carrier

Cocoa Puff has a similar toy to this. It's a fantastic travel toy. We hooked it to the top of his car seat and he'd bat at it and pull on it and try to chew on it. Now that we don't have that car seat anymore, we still bring it with us almost everywhere beause there's just a lot to keep him busy still.

VTech Count and Colors Bouncing Frog Toy

  • Playful, bouncing frog design encourages movement and strengthens balance
  • Motion sensor activates cheerful counting rhymes
  • Four buttons teach about colors and insects
  • 50 sing-along songs, melodies, sounds and playful phrases keep little ones engaged
  • Requires 2 AA batteries (batteries included for demo purposes only; new batteries recommended for regular use; intended for ages 18 months to 3 years

Here's another fun toy we have! Froot Loop has outgrown it but Cocoa Puff has been playing on it for months already... as soon as he could get on and off by himself. He loves to bounce on it. It's very well made and the music is only slightly annoying.

Oball Go Grippers Bounce 'N Zoom Speedway

  • Claw lifts car and then releases so it crashes and tumbles on bounce pad
  • Encourage active and imaginative play with these unique toys that are easy to pick up and impossible to put down
  • Cars zoom and tumble down ramps, get lifted by a giant claw and bounce on the super bounce pad
  • Spiraling ramps keep playtime exciting as cars choose a different path each time
  • Includes one Go Grippers car with Oball geometric holes that are easy for little hands to pick up

This is a fairly new toy from a well-loved brand. The Oball toys have lots of loops and holes for little fingers to grab, making them lots of fun for the youngest of kids as well as older kiddos too. The only downside to this set is that I think it's on the expensive side. I'll be watching and waiting for it to go on sale!

Stay tuned for the Toy Lists for other age groups coming soon!
