This is my son's new FAVORITE Train Track: Review of Chuggington Train Track (AKA. the woo woo train)

My boys are obsessed with trains. Froot Loop has had this obsession for as long as I can remember. He has several different train tracks, and each one serves a different purpose. One of the most versatile and easiest to play with is this one: The Chuggington Train Track

Froot Loop got this train track for Christmas last year. He loves trains and he has a couple other train tracks too, including the wood ones that end up all over the house.

He watches Chuggington occasionally (He likes Thomas better), so he did recognize the train that came with it. The train “sings” three different songs, including the "WOO WOO" song that is Froot Loop’s favorite. I think one of them is part of the Chuggington theme, but I haven’t watched the show enough to be sure (and that’s on purpose… I do not like Chuggington at all. Thomas is fine in small amounts). He calls the train his "woo woo train" and it pretty much goes everywhere with us, even a whole year later.

The track was very easy to put together, even for his 3 year old hands. It’s very easy to take apart too… almost too easy as it falls apart even when you don’t want it to if it gets bumped or something.

The track fits most hotwheels cars, which is nice. The track is raised on the sides so it’s very easy for even the littlest of kids to drive their cars and trains around the track. This starter track is definitely big enough to start out with too, but there are expansion packs available.

Even though last Christmas was a year ago, he still plays with this quite often. It is small enough to take with us when we travel so he always has a train track to play with. It’s probably one of his favorite toys. I often see it in his room after his quiet time. He even uses it with/next to his wooden trains.

The main reason I like this track is because when Froot Loop asks to play with his wood train track and I just don’t feel like having trains all over my house and/or don’t want to spend hours putting the track together for him, I can offer this smaller track for him and he usually goes for it and gets excited about playing with it.

Like I said, the pieces do come apart if they’re moved too hard, and that’s really the only downside. The starter track is basically a large oval with a little bit extra that bows out on one of the sides. There’s really only one way to put it all together using all the pieces, and sometimes it gets frustrating when you can’t remember how the darn thing goes!

All in all, this is a fun track. I don’t know if we’ll get any expansion packs since we already have a ton of the wood train tracks, but I do like having this alternate one!

Do you like Thomas or Chugginton better?
