Review of Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Organic & Natural Cleaners For Your Body and Your Home

Another green product that we use a lot here is Mrs. Meyers Clean Day. I alternate the all purpose cleaner with a mix we make from Dr. Bronners (see HERE).
My favorite product of theirs is their hand soap. I have lavender in our bathroom. I have basil in the guest bathroom. I have honeysuckle or geranium in the kitchen. When they roll out their holiday scents, I put cranberry in our bathroom, the pine in the guest bathroom, and the orange clove in the kitchen. Mmmm. When I can find it, I like to use the Bluebell scent too. I usually put out lemon verbena if we have overnight guests (I don’t know why, but not everyone likes the basil scent!)
I do water down the hand soap a little bit because it is very thick and Froot Loop loves to pump the soap. The other option is to rig the soap container by wrapping a rubber band around the pump part so we can only push it down about half way. I might try that next.
I love the hand soap refills, but I wish they came in all the scents. Right now, I can only find them in basil, lavender, lemon verbena, and geranium.
I usually have a bottle of the general all purpose cleaner in every non sleeping or living room. The scents match those of the hand soap.
The concentrated all purpose cleaner refill lasts a LONG time and it’s very easy to do. It’s also awesome for putting in the mop bucket.
The tub and tile cleaner is basically the same thing as the all purpose cleaner. It says it’s made to handle soap scum, but I haven’t noticed much difference between this or the regular all purpose cleaner. Maybe that’s because I don’t clean enough… I also don’t have a glass shower door, and I’d be more inclined to use a product intended for tub/tile in that case.
I also have a container of the dish soap on hand, but I don’t always use it. It depends on my mood and what I’m washing. I find the smell is a lot better than Dawn, but it doesn’t do as well on greasy items.
The toilet bowl cleaner is great too. I find I have to clean the toilets a bit more frequently, but it does get the job done and smells much better. Go easy on it. It’s STRONG.
The soy candles are AMAZING. They smell absolutely fantastic… they seem to be a bit more concentrated than the scents in the cleaning products. They burn for a long time and they make the house smell amazing.
Another favorite is the surface scrub. It is AWESOME on pots and pans and the stovetop. It works great on stainless steel too. I use it in the bathroom sinks once in awhile and they really look clean after I do that. It’s really nice. The smell is pleasant and it doesn’t kill your skin like Comet does. It’s non abrasive so you can use it on nearly everything. I haven’t found anything that looked scratched up after using it.
I have never tried the laundry detergent because I either make my own or use unscented (except for the little squirts of essential oil or Dr. Bronners). If you’ve used it, let me know how awesome it is!
I don’t use fabric softener or dryer sheets at all but if I did, I’d definitely use the lavender dryer sheets. I’ve smelled them in the store and I wanted to roll around in them.
All in all, I’m very pleased with this brand. The cleaners get things clean. The smell is amazing. The company uses natural, plant-based materials to make their eco friendly products.
