Rainbows of Color: Prisms Aren't Just for Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Album!

When I was little, my Grandma had a bunch of prisms hanging from her west windows. When the sun would go down, the sun would shine into that front window and through all of the prisms, making rainbows all over the place. It is one of my favorite memories.
I bought this prism so I could share that memory with my boys. This prism is a little bigger than 1.5 inches, so it is plenty big enough for lots of fun rainbows. I have a few prisms of different sizes and shapes on my window and this one gets me the most rainbows. My boys like to run around the room and hunt rainbows . It is so much fun.
The only reason I took a star away from my Amazon review is because there is no string included to hang it. I made a hook out of a large paperclip that I untwisted about half way and stuck one end through the prism (there is a hole pre drilled for your hanging mechanism) and the other end of the paper clip fits well around a suction cup hook.
I like this prism. It is hefty. It is well made and there are a lot of rainbows created by it. There are a lot of facets. The sun hits all of them and brings a lot of rainbows. We are very happy!
Here's Froot Loop playing with those rainbows. I can't believe how long ago this was... he was so little! Now, he's FIVE!
What things do you remember from your grandparents' houses while growing up?
