Having a(n) O- ball! Review & Roundup of O- ball toys for Babies & Toddlers

One of our favorite brands of toys is Rhino O Ball. We have a lot of their toys and the company is coming out with new toys all the time. These toys have distinctive circle shaped holes that are absolutely perfect for young babies to grab. Babies can stick their fingers in the holes and really grab ahold of the toys. They are fantastic first toys, but toddlers and preschoolers can get a lot of enjoyment out of them too.
I love this little shaker rattle It has little balls in there that make a rattle sound. This was the first toy that Cocoa Puff ever held. It has a classic dumbbell shape so tiny hands can grasp the middle of the rattle, but the ends are two balls with holes to hold onto. We still have it, but it doesn't really get played with anymore except when our friends come over and they bring their newly 1 year old.
Here's Oball's classic toy: the Rainbow Ball. We have the blue and green one as well as the red/blue/green/yellow one. There’s not much to say about these except they are just simple, classic balls. They are soft and flexible. The kids love to play with them in the bathtub. They don’t make any rattle noise or anything like the smaller ones do. They're just awesome. They still get played with very frequently, too.
The Rattle and Roll Car is a lot of fun! It combines the best of both worlds: car and rattle! We have the red/yellow car. This is Cocoa Puff’s favorite car (see our car roundup HERE). It makes a small rattle noise and it’s very easy to push and pull around. It also makes for a nice massage when one of the kids run it up and down your back...
We have so many sets of teething rings, it’s ridiculous. We like these Grip and Teethe Keys because of the unique textures on each of the three keys. And of course, like most O Ball toys, they have the holes for little fingers to hold on to. They make GREAT teethers.
Cocoa Puff loved this Grip and Play Suction Toy. The suction isn’t that great, but it lasted long enough to get us through a meal. He had a blast grabbing onto the ball and making it spin around. The rattle sound is fun and stimulating to his senses too. We no longer have this fun toy, but man, it was fun while we had it.
The regular rainbow o balls sink in the tub, but the boys still love to play with them in the tub. This Float Bath Toy is basically a standard ball with some buoys in it to make it float. I gave in and bought them one to play with in the pool or the tub. It’s the same size and shape as the regular ones, but the little buoy in it gives it the buoyancy to make it float. It seems to be a big hit!
These are some other O Ball toys we are interested in.
These Rollie Rattles Toys are so cute! We had them on Cocoa Puff’s registry but didn’t receive them. I played with one in the store and it’s very similar to the other rattle, but it has a cute animal face on it.
Simple and classic, there is not much to this football toy, but it seems like a lot of fun. It doesn’t rattle or anything. It is just a fun football toy to grab and hold.
If Cocoa Puff ended up needing any more teething toys, this is the one I would have bought. It has lots of different textures, much like the teething keys, and also has a ton of surfaces to grab for his tactile development. It’s colorful with bright colors and just looks like a lot of fun. I’m not sure how much use we’d get out of it after the teething is done though.
This Clickety Twist Toy is another teething and grabbing toy, much simpler and basic than the others. It does not have all the holes in it, just the big flexible loops, so it would be a good toy for the littlest babies learning how to grab things. The center twisting ball also makes a clicking noise which would be good for auditory stimulus.
I love the wind up propeller on the Tubmarine Bath Toy! This would be so much fun in the tub or pool to chase around. Reviews are mixed though; some people say it doesn’t really move around much.
We have a few other stacker toys, but this one seems like fun too. The big, chunky pieces interlock perfectly so it would be a very easy toy for babies to learn how to stack with.
The Wobble Bobble Toy vibrates, wobbles, and rolls around while playing silly songs. So going on the list if we have another baby.

Is it just me, or is that whale adorable from this Tubby Scoop Friends Bath Toy set!? The whale can hold the other three toys and it also has holes in the bottom so you can sprinkle water. The other three toys are really cute too. There’s a starfish and octopus squirter toy and a turtle with paddles that moves through the water. It looks like a lot of fun.
The wind up finson the Wind up Turtle allow the turtle to swim through the water. The classic o ball circles would make it easy for babies to grab and play with.
This is a bath storage toy. It has a suction cup on it to attach to the bathtub wall. It appears roomy enough for several toys and all the holes would allow for fantastic draining.
Twist O Round Toy is for Teething and twisting! There’s a bunch of different rings to move around and the outside rings are soft and teethable. This looks like a lot of fun! It also makes a clicking sound which is great for sensory development.
I’m thinking about getting these Scoop and spill Bath Toys for Froot Loop. He loves filling and spilling and dumping water. They’re just basically cups. Cocoa Puff would love these too as an introduction to this concept. The cups would be so easy to pick up.
The ribbons on the lion’s mane are fantastic for tactile development. The rattle noise appeals to the auditory sensors. Visual stimulation is provided through the bright colors.
I think this Roller Toy would be a lot of fun for learning to walk. It is kind of hard to tell exactly what it is, though. It looks like a giant o ball with a rattle that attaches to a handle. And for over $20, that seems like a lot of money for such a simple thing.
Here is another fun O Ball toy. It is a traditional O Ball with a rattle stick inside of it. It’s 6” in diameter and there are a bunch of little balls in it (more than the regular rattle), making it sound a lot more like rain falling.
Aw, man, I WISH this stroller arch had been around when the boys were babies. This would have been GREAT to attach to the carseat or stroller or bouncer or swing… If we have another kid, I am totally getting this.
Awww. This jingle frog is adorable! Baby will get a grip on playtime with this cute, entertaining frog toy. The Jingle & Shake Pal is easy for little hands to grasp. Baby will be delighted with this toy's chime ball and bead chaser features.
Here’s another teether! There’s all sorts of good thing for those poor, little, sore gums to gnaw on. Plus there’s a bunch of different textures for those cute, chubby fingers to touch and grab onto.
These Gripper Cars came out just as Cocoa Puff was outgrowing these kind of things, but man, are they adorable. I love how they are easy to grab and roll and play with. They’re durable too, so they can withstand being thrown and dropped over and over.
Aw man, here’s another thing I wish they had around earlier! This Gripper Car Ramp is AWESOME! I so want this if we have another baby! I do think Cocoa Puff AND Froot Loop would still have a blast with this, but we have so many ramps and cars that we really don’t need any more right now for the two of them.
What!? A scooper/loader!? ADORABLE!
There’s some other trucks too:
There’s also these really cute little boats!
Cocoa Puff got this cute little helicopter for Christmas last year. He’s probably a little old for it now but he still plays with it often. He loves to zoom it around the room and sometimes he puts his little animals inside.
Finally, I found this interesting slider toy. Cocoa Puff really enjoyed the moving bead toys, so he probably would have really liked this one too.
As you can see, there are a ton of toys from O Ball that are a lot of fun for babies and toddlers (and even older kids too!). The unique O shaped holes give little fingers a perfect place to hold on to. They’re so much fun!
What are your kids favorite toys to hold onto?
