Handprint Christmas Wreath Craft: So You'll Always Remember How Little Their Hands Are

Cocoa Puff and I made this really cute handprint wreath and I couldn't WAIT to share it with you! It turned out SO CUTE! It didn't take very long and he was able to do a lot of it by himself once Mama did all the tracing and cutting.

He had so much fun making it and it is hanging over my sewing machine right now.

Supplies Needed:

12 x 18" Construction Paper

Scissors

Glue

Stamp Pad with Red Ink

Pom Poms in Red, Green, White, and Blue (optional)

Writing Utensil

Directions:

First, you have to trace a circle onto a piece of paper. I used a paper plate.

Next, you have to trace those cute little hands onto the paper.

We used the circle as a guide for where to place his hands.

I alternated tracing his right and left hand and overlapped the thumbs.

Don't forget to have a silly break in there somewhere!

And if you get tired, it's perfectly okay to take a nap while Mama keeps tracing your hands.

When you're done, you should have something that looks a little like this.

Cut it out.

Trace and cut out as many other handprints as you like from the rest of the paper. Glue the loose handprints to the wreath to give it extra "fluff".

Put those adorable little fingertips onto the red ink pad and press all over the paper.

Keep going!

All the way around!

Fill up that wreath with those beautiful fingerprints!

Next, get out those pom poms and glue them to the wreath. Use whatever colors you desire.

Put them all over the wreath.

Take a moment to admire your work.

Celebrate!

And there you have a beautiful Christmas wreath!

What is your favorite Christmas decoration?

Such a cute idea. One of my kids made them when they were in pre-school. And also another time they used hands to make antlers

Yes, my oldest has made the reindeer antler handprint craft in Pre-K this year.

It turned out so well! With crafts like these, my biggest challenge is always just making sure I sit back and let my kids get creative and decorate it however they want to do it, and not let my somewhat OCD nature kick in and make it "better" for them.
Mama Writes Reviews - December 5, 2017 7:50 PM
Haha, I am the same way!
