Earth Day Week: Easy (& Fun) Recycled Binoculars Craft Made from Toilet Paper Tubes

We're going to wrap up our celebration of Earth Day week with one more recycled craft! This one is another super easy one and the boys LOVED it. I ended up having to make two of them because they couldn't share the first one. Read on to see how we made these easy recycled binoculars!

This one is so easy.

First, decorate two toilet paper tubes. Cocoa Puff decided to use markers and then stickers.

Then, punch holes near the ends of the rolls. This is for the string.

Then, turn them over and punch near the ends of both ends. This is how we're going to stick them together.

Tie one end of the string to either toilet paper roll. This is your hanging strap.

Take another piece of string and put it through all four inner holes as shown.

Pull the ends taut so that the tubes are tightly together.

Tie the ends together inside the tubes. I used a double square knot.

Now you have your own set of recycled binoculars.

Cool!

You could also try gluing the two tubes together, but when we tried this, they didn't stick together very well.

Cocoa Puff immediately put them on and started looking at everything.

He wore them all day and absolutely loved them!

I see you!!!!

The funniest thing was when we made one for Froot Loop and he put them on his stuffed dog. I laughed SO HARD. That kid is such a goof.

I'm laughing again now just typing about it!

Cocoa Puff's favorite thing to do is to look outside for Lucky Charms and Trix.

He's so cute watching outside for the dogs!

There you have it! Super easy recycled binoculars!

Do you enjoy birdwatching?
