Usborne Books & More Roundup: Our Favorite Children's Books!

This post may contain affiliate links. See our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Information page.

Happy Tuesday! As you may or may not have read yesterday, I just joined Usborne Books & More as an Independent Consultant. I have loved Usborne Books since Froot Loop was a baby. One of the first books he ever received was from my aunt, who has always been amazing at sending the boys (and me!) books.

I'm so excited to start this adventure. I have always loved reading. Recently, Froot Loop has learned to read (he's known his letters since he was about 18 months old and he's been doing sight words since, but in the last few months, he's really taken off) and I just want to cry when I think about it because reading is magical. It opens up an infinite number of worlds and I'm so happy for him!

This delightful series of board books is aimed at the very young child. The bright pictures, with their patches of different textures, are designed to develop sensory and language awareness. Babies and toddlers will love turning the pages and touching the touchy-feely patches.

There's TONS of titles available in this super fun series. We've managed to collect quite a few and both of the boys STILL love them! They're great for occupational and speech therapy as well.

I was SO excited when the box containing my consultant kit arrived at my door!

First, I'm taking orders RIGHT NOW at my page so shop away!

We have some pretty cool specials right now too. When you spend $40, you get to pick one of these popular titles for a super discount.

I'm having a book party at my new Facebook page: @MamaReadsBooks I'll be posting current specials, my favorite book picks, and more.

I like these books because they're fun, bright, beautiful, durable, and educational. There's something for every interest. I am so excited to share my love of books with y'all and to help your family find some books they adore too.

These are adorable. It's a delightful box set containing a collection of first word board books, perfect for tiny tots. It includes four books from the popular Baby’s Very First series: Animals, Mealtime, Colors and Bedtime and features bold, high-contrast illustrations suitable for even the smallest babies.

Whenever Jonathan James finds himself in a new situation, he hears his Whatif Monster asking all kind of questions to stop him trying something new: What if it’s scary? What if they laugh? What if it’s hard? Finally, Jonathan James has some questions of his own: What if they don’t? What if it isn’t? What then

A lively story with humorous illustrations, ideal for children who are beginning to read for themselves, or for reading aloud together. With simple rhyming text and phonic repetition specially designed to develop essential language and early reading skills. Guidance notes for parents are included at the back of the book.

Packed with brilliantly designed paper planes to make and fly, ranging from fighter planes to space rockets and creepy flying bugs. This book features four different models to perfect, each with their own concise instructions on how to best fold and fly them. Printed on special tear-out pages, each of the 100 planes features a unique design.

Imagine your own funny stories and create crazy characters as you flip through the split pages and muddle things up!

There's a bunch of other titles in this series too!

Here's another book in the "That's Not My" collection. That's not my unicorn... its tail is too furry! Introducing the 50th title in the best-selling That's Not My series which has sold millions throughout the world! To celebrate, Usborne has published this very special title, which includes unique page edges with amazing, fun rainbow colors!

Bright, punchy artwork makes every page an adventure in the latest title in the best-selling Shine-A-Light series. A hidden world of snow-covered Arctic foxes, tree-trunk hiding owls, and perfectly camouflaged butterflies will be revealed as you hold the pages to the light. Pair one of these books with a flashlight for a perfect gift!

There's tons of books in this popular Shine-A-Light series! We want them all!

What was a very serious book about very serious dinosaurs is suddenly interrupted by a hole – a nibbled hole – in the book. Who would do something like that?

Little ones will love trying to find the culprit – Nibbles – hiding among their favorite, easily recognizable dinosaurs. Is he an herbivore? A carnivore? Or … a bookivore?

Emma Yarlett’s Nibbles: The Dinosaur Guide is packed with flaps, folds, facts and die cuts, plus one very naughty monster and an ending to make Houdini proud. But has Nibbles bitten off more than he can chew?

The Big Picture Book of General Knowledge is a treasure trove of wow-inducing facts. The facts are arranged by topic – from natural wonders to music, and transportation to the human body. And throughout the book there are big, beautiful illustrations for readers to explore and share, in a trendy, infographic style.

Let Bear Grylls teach you everything you need to know to cope in all weather and terrain and even through the air, over the seas, and under the waves. The wonderful world is out there just waiting to be discovered! The perfect gift for any young adventurers in training.

Remember, I'm taking orders now! Please check out my site and most importantly, HAVE FUN SHOPPING!

Thanks! They have so many amazing books! I kind of want them all!
Annie Collyer - May 2, 2018 3:24 PM
How fun those books look, how inviting. I , too, read to my kids for years and years...even when they had learned on their own. It was cuddle time, too.
There is nothing like those great graphics to attract a child's interest.
Thank you for promoting reading like this...I am very active in my local school district, and know from our educators that children who learn to read well by 3rd grade can thrive, whereas those who don't will struggle to keep up. So important for them for the rest of their lives.

Thank you so much, Annie. This was just the message I needed to hear today. I am VERY passionate about children's books and helping kids have access to them. I cried happy tears when my oldest learned how to read just because I was so happy that he now has the tools to open up an infinite number of worlds to him just by opening up the cover of a book.
Lauren Cecora - May 2, 2018 7:27 PM

Oh wow this was so much fun. I am wondering if my grandgifts have some of these books. I especially like the idea that they use alter egos to see their emotions. Sounds like a fabulous company to be part of.
Looking forward to hearing more about it.
I wish you great succes with it. So happy, love that!
In peace and gratitude, ariel

Usborne books are so lovely for little ones. They bring so much fun to reading at such a crucial learning age too. Lovely.
Mama Writes Reviews - May 22, 2018 6:02 PM
Reading at a young age is so important. I love that these books are books that kids WANT to read, and not books that they HAVE to read!
holly - May 22, 2018 2:25 PM
Wow..what a great idea I love this. I totally want to try it out too.
Mama Writes Reviews - May 22, 2018 6:03 PM

Gladys Parker - May 22, 2018 6:31 PM
These books look so fun and enticing for the little ones. I loved reading to my children when they were small and now I read to my grandchildren. I love the expressions they make when they put 2 + 2 together and realize they have learned something.
Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 11:15 AM
Yes, that is amazing. Reading is so important.
Betty - May 22, 2018 7:45 PM
The book looks attractive and colourful too. The kids definitely love to read it. I wondering they do post to Malaysia? Want to buy for my god daughter.
Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 11:15 AM
There's a lot of fun and colorful books. Honestly, I am not sure if we ship to Malaysia or not... I guess we'll have to try and buy some books and find out!
Evelyn, PathofPresence - May 22, 2018 8:28 PM
As I read your post, I realize that I had some of these books for my children when they were younger. I never knew they were from Osborn books but it seems they have a GREAT selection. My children lug the “That’s not my ... “ Series
Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 11:16 AM
Those That's Not My.... books were what got us into Usborne books. They're so much fun! Now that my kiddos are a little older, we're finding more and more books for them to read.
Vanessa Delia - May 22, 2018 8:31 PM
With so many children's books out there it can be tough to identify good ones. This list nails it though!
Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 11:17 AM

Finding books for my girls is always so much fun. Storytime is my favorite time of the day (probably because it's the first chance I get to sit down all day). Looks like a great collection from Usborne.

I love story time with my kiddos too. Thanks for stopping by!

This is perfect for summer! I’d rather my kids read books than play video games. My son would love the paper airplane book, and my younger nephews and nieces would love the other books!
Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 11:20 AM
Yes, I'm sponsoring a summer read a thon through Usborne to help beat the summer slide, where kiddos lose reading skills over the summer months. I'm hoping a lot of kids take advantage of it and read a lot!
Preet - May 23, 2018 11:48 AM
Wow! I was looking for some new kids books. I am just going to start at the top and work my way down the list.

Mama Writes Reviews - May 24, 2018 6:07 PM
I have to say that was one of the biggest selling points for me: the huge selection of books for kids from newborns through middle school. Pretty amazing.
Alison Rost - May 26, 2018 6:18 AM
It's nice to find books that the kids will be interested in reading. Reading is a huge part of my life and I made sure that I shared my love for books with my kids. It's so awesome that the kids have so many options these days for books that they'd like to read!
Mama Writes Reviews - May 26, 2018 12:42 PM
Thank you! I've made sure that my kids' bookshelves are packed with fun and educational books. Reading is super important to me and early literacy is one of my life's passions.
Kristin's Peppermints and Cherries - January 25, 2019 6:20 AM
I have never ordered from Usborne books, but I have heard so much about the company. My children have a couple of these books that were given to them, and the quality is excellent. Pinned!
