This is Mind-Boggling! Did you know there's a Boggle game for kids!?

So Froot Loop learned to read at 5... like a YOUNG 5 years old. He was reading so well that last year in Pre-K, they actually put him in the Kindergarten class for part of the day when they did their reading. He's barely 6 years old and he's reading at a 3rd or 4th grade level.

The only downside to this is that he's BORED at school. He's soooo advanced in reading and math and writing, that when they do these subjects, he's not being challenged. Something to discuss at his ARD meeting later this month...

One of the games we got him to encourage (not force) reading at a young age is Boggle Junior. He knew all his letters before he turned 2 years old...

I remember having this game as a kid too and having a lot of fun with it.

Boggle Jr. helps kiddos learn the letters, spelling, and reading while having fun! This easier version of the grown up Boggle game has pictures and matching games. This lets kiddos make connections between objects and their names. With two skill levels, players can challenge themselves further as they become more adept at identifying letters and words. It will seem like no time at all before kids are begging to play their parents' version of Boggle! The game, for one or more players, includes a game tray with word cover, 30 picture/word cards with 60 three- and four-letter words, and eight letter cubes.

It does NOT have a timer like the classic game, which actually is pretty nice for the younger kids because it makes it less stressful. After all, we want them to have fun and not be pressured.

It’s a good game to grow with your kids. Cocoa Puff is 3 and has known his letters for awhile now, but this is a fun way to review those letters. Then, we can adapt the game for Froot Loop to incorporate reading and spelling. Sure, you don’t NEED this game to do those things, but it’s a fun tool to help, and it’s disguised as learning!

I’m all about making learning fun, and this is a fun way to do it.

What’s your favorite board game?

This is awesome! I grew up playing the original boogle and it's still the go-to game in our family. I love that they have a children's version.

Looks like a fun game. I love games that also incorporate learning. I'll have to get this game for my little one to help with spelling. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not surprised that such a game exists because it makes perfect sense. It sounds like a lot of fun.

I've never been a board game person, though I do love Cranium. My family started playing it when my dad was in the hospital as a distraction. It became a part of our family trips after that and lead to many funny stories that still make me chuckle when I think about them.
