Happy Day after Thanksgiving! I hope y'all had a wonderful day with friends and family and were able to eat lots of yummy food!

I guess now it's officially the Christmas season, although I've seen Christmas stuff in our local Dollar General since August.... NOT KIDDING.

Guess it's time to get all the Christmas decorations up and start all of our Christmas traditions.

We have a lot of things we do every year like advent calendars, decorating the Christmas tree, putting up the garland and our stockings.

We watch Christmas movies and cartoons and sing Christmas carols.

We go the live Nativity in the next town over and make Christmas cookies and other treats.

I have a Christmas village that I put up every year.

And we always put up tons of Christmas lights.

We see Santa Claus in the courthouse when he arrives later today and then again when he revisits our little town after our Christmas parade.

We love to drive around and look at all the Christmas lights in our town and the areas around our town.

I participate in several Christmas concerts (both singing and playing various instruments).

The kids and I make gingerbread houses (and every year I wonder WHY we do that because I HATE THEM).

There's Christmas parties at school and at Church and our preschool Bible group.

We always go see the San Antonio Riverwalk all lit up for Christmas as well.

The kids and I make gifts for all of our family.

I'll admit to going overboard on the Christmas gifts for my kids, but I just love watching them open their presents.

Honey Graham and I watch Die Hard on Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed.

We go to our Candlelight Christmas Eve service after spending the day with Honey Graham's family.

The Kids write a letter to Santa and leave out treats for him.

Christmas Day, we wake up super early and find out what Santa left for us!

Then, we open our stockings and presents from Santa and after that, we drive over to my parents' house for a breakfast of scones and peppermint coffee (peppermint hot chocolate for the kids and my sister). We're going to have to figure out how exactly we're doing that this year since my parents now live an hour away instead of 20 minutes. Maybe we'll stay the night or something. We've got time to figure it out.

The day after Christmas we spend with the other side of Honey Graham's family... with his mom and sister and our nephew, and this year, we'll have Gramal!! It's a lot of fun and very relaxing and last year, it was like, the PERFECT day.

It's a busy time of year, but I'll tell you, it's my favorite time of the year. The weather is chilly and there's so much going on and so much fun to be had!

What do y'all do during Christmas time?

I've been loving seeing everyone start their Christmas traditions! We'll be setting up our tree in a week and I can hardly wait

You have a lot of the same Christmas time traditions as we do. We try and watch a Christmas movie a day leading up to Christmas, we visit Hershey PA for the Sweetlights display every year, and a man's home he opened up to the public with his hobby of building model villages about the size of dollhouses and he decorates them all for Christmas. It is called Tiny World. He has recently passed away but his son is keeping up with the tradition. I hope you all have a happy holiday season.

I love hearing about the Christmas traditions! The holiday season is the best time to create memories with your family especially kids.

The San Antonio river walk is beautiful anyways, I’d love to see it all lit up.
Before Christmas My mom, brother and I all go to a strip with all local businesses and boutiques for shopping. Every store is decorated and they usually have treats and wine.

It’s funny because I love making gingerbread houses, but only if I am doing it by myself haha. I like to have total creative control

What a lovely post to read and so festive! I love reading about other people's festive traditions - seems like you have a lot - your kids must love this time of year! I love that you make gingerbread houses even though you don't like them!

Our Thanksgiving is earlier here in Canada so we've all been in the Christmas season since Nov 1st lmao. I love Christmas traditions and I love making new ones with my own little family.

This is so nice. I like the way the house lights up. I am so sad I won't put up a tree this year because I will be moving out soon and trying to avoid the headache. Yours looks pretty

I am so excited to get our tree up! There is something about getting that done that makes the holiday season feel real. I love hearing about all of your traditions! Happy holidays!

Christmas for me means reflecting on the real reason we celebrate it. For my family, it means being with family, sharing a nice, home-cooked dinner on Christmas Eve and being thankful for the blessings we have received. Thank you for sharing photos of your family. Your children are adorable. They must be so excited to open their gifts.

So lovely! I love the Christmass spirit everywhere and anyhow! :)

I love Christmas so much and I love reading about how different families celebrate. I can't believe it's only a month away.

I always hated Christmas until last year, when I moved to England and actually started it celebrating it by buying others gifts (not a tradition in the Netherlands). Now I love it <3

Sounds like you have a wonderful Christmas traditions and I am glad that every member of the family really enjoyed this celebration.

Celebrating a Christmas was traditional but the most important thing is how we all know what are we celebrating the born of our LORD Jesus Christ our savior, with the whole family together.
Twinspirational - November 28, 2018 8:25 AM
What fun Christmas traditions. We usually do a Festivus with friends, and this year we are going skiing for Christmas.

High school band concerts coming up. Front yard is already lit. The shopping is started but long from done. Lots of family to see.

When my kids were younger, we celebrated in a similar way and it was so much fun getting and decorating our Christmas tree. We used to leave our pretty lights hanging right into January. They are older now and some of the novelty has worn off. We still celebrate but differently.
