Fun Ways to "Help" the Tooth Fairy

Well, we've hit another big step in our parenting (and childhood) journeys: Froot Loop lost his first TWO teeth! The first one came out about a week after he turned 6 1/2 and the second one was exactly 3 weeks after the first. Then, we had our first tooth fairy visits! We decided we didn't want to go the "normal" money route and we have been going with LEGOS instead. Here are a bunch of other ideas y'all can use for the tooth fairy!

We sort of had a mini adventure with them because he developed "shark teeth," where his adult teeth grew in behind his baby teeth before the baby teeth fell out. We had to "motivate" the baby teeth to come out, but didn't force them, and out they came! The first tooth was a surprise, since the adult tooth was so close behind the baby tooth, that it didn't really get a chance to get very wiggly before it was ready to come out. The tooth fairy was caught unprepared!

A Metal Treasure Box: is the perfect container to hold those little teeth in. It measures  2.67 x 1.88 x 2.04 inches, so it's also a perfect size for a small trinket the tooth fairy leaves behind.

A book is always a fabulous idea for the tooth fairy to leave behind. What does the Tooth Fairy do with our teeth? Does she build castles with them? String them into necklaces? Maybe--but that's not all she does! See all the amazing, unusual, magical things the Tooth Fairy does with our teeth in this award winning book.

Tooth Fairy Certificates are a fun way to celebrate those lost teeth as well. Since I didn't have time to buy anything ahead of time, I made my own, but I wish I had used these instead.

Fortunately, I had some Mini Envelopes for Teeth handy for his first tooth! I wrote the date and the tooth inside the flap, and the tooth fairy took the whole package with her.

This gorgeous Dragon Tooth Fairy pillow with pocket has a front belly pocket for both the tooth and treasures. It measures 9" tall.

This next one is more for Mom and Dad than the little ones... It's the Tooth Fairy DVD. Dwayne Johnson stars as Derek Thompson, one of the toughest hockey players around -- until he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as the world's most unlikely tooth fairy! Even though he must sport frilly wings and learn the magical tricks of the trade from his silver-winged superiors (Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal), Derek's determined to do the job HIS way and prove he's got what it takes!

Dinosaur Tooth Animal: The stuffed animal's pouch is the perfect way to safely store a lost tooth and the money the tooth fairy leaves behind. Danny is 8.5 inches tall, 11 inches long a perfect size for little ones, but large enough to find in the dark after your boy or girl falls asleep.

Here's another item for Mom and Dad- A Baby Tooth Organizer and Scrapbook: Give your child's baby teeth a home in your family memories. Specially designed to be light weight and lie flat on a page, our patented baby tooth organizer can be placed in your very own family scrapbook or photo album. Simply rotate the opening of the clear plastic cover over the appropriate tooth well (use our baby tooth chart as a guide), place the baby tooth inside and rotate shut to keep the tooth safe.Use our baby tooth chart to keep track of your child's changing smile and write special notes and dates.

This next one wins huge points for technology! The Toothless Monster: Are you looking for a wildy fun Tooth Fairy experience for a special child in your life? The Toothless Monster is the ONLY toy that gains a tooth each time a child loses one!
These Monsters don't replace the Tooth Fairy tradition, they enhance it by providing a fun, interactive conclusion to the usual cash-for-tooth swap. In fact, The Toothless Monster was created when a little girl asked her parents where teeth go when the Tooth Fairy takes them. An off-the-cuff reply that she gives them to a creature in need eventually led to the idea for a more magical, meaningful, Tooth Fairy experience. More rewarding than any tooth pillow, box, or holder, The Toothless Monster book and plush doll teach children a subtle lesson about empathy, kindness, and giving. Kids absolutely LOVE helping Monte earn his teeth!

Here's how it works:
When your child loses a tooth, start reading the book to learn why not having teeth is a BIG problem for a little Monster. Partway through, the book will tell you to stop reading until the child has given a tooth to their Monster.
Before going to bed, the child will place their baby tooth in the secret tooth pouch located under the Monster’s tongue.
That night, the Tooth Fairy (wink wink!) will collect the baby tooth, leave the gifts of their choosing, and permanently snap one of the provided plastic teeth into the Monster’s jaw.
The next morning, your child will be thrilled to find not only their Tooth Fairy gifts, but also that their Monster magically gained a new tooth!
The process repeats with each lost tooth. The book concludes after four teeth, but you can continue giving teeth to The Toothless Monster for as long as you like (16 teeth are included.)

Tooth Monster Pillow: This adorable Tooth Fairy Pillow by Alma's Designs gives your child a place to keep a lost tooth overnight while waiting for the Tooth Fairy to visit! The fun face pillow features a large front pocket that fits teeth and money easily.

Tooth Fairy Pillow Girl: Make losing a tooth exciting with this sweet Tooth Fairy Kit for a girl. The pillow is a nice pink color and is very soft and plush. It has a small pocket that can hold the tooth before the tooth fairy comes. Included in the kit are 20 cards that have a letter from the tooth fairy on the front and places for you to document the name, age, date, and treat left for the child. Also included is an adorable wooden Tooth Fairy Box Organizer that holds 20 teeth. (Money not included, obviously)

Mini Tooth Fairy Bunny: Celebrate your little kid's first lost tooth with our mini plush and linen tooth fairy bunny. She's dressed in a mesh tutu with a pocket to hold your little girl's tooth

Get ready for the Tooth Fairy! This 3 piece Tooth Fairy Pillow set comes with everything you need to create special memories of the Tooth Fairy. The tooth shaped pillow is made of soft felt and measures 9" x 8" and comes with a "Dear Tooth Fairy" notepad which allows your child to document the tooth and date as well as write a special note to the Tooth Fairy. The tooth and notes fit perfectly in the pocket on the back of the tooth fairy pillow and will stay secure with the velcro closure . Perfect place for a special exchange from the Tooth Fairy back to your child. Boys and girls alike will love this plush pillow with the special compartment and notes. Mom will love the keepsake pouch that will hold the handwritten notes and teeth for cherished memories. The keepsake wallet pouch folds up and holds a 3" x 2.5" photo of your child with their missing tooth.

Baby Tooth Album: We have designed and patented the world’s first baby tooth keepsake/organizer that fits in family photo albums. We did so because we think baby teeth are truly precious souvenirs of our children’s growing years and they need a home in our family memories. Our Baby Tooth Album is a one-of-a-kind tri-fold keepsake book, especially designed to hold our patented Baby Tooth Organizer.

Tooth Fairy Kit with Stickers: make the tooth fairy's job a little easier by placing the tooth in the tooth-shaped felt door hanger instead of under a pillow! Then, have your child fill in the letter to the fairy describing how and when they lost their tooth. Last, the Tooth Fairy replaces the tooth and the note with a tooth receipt and shiny foil stickers! Includes (1) tooth fairy door hanger, (20) tooth receipts, (20) fill-in letters and envelopes, and (24) foil stamped stickers.

Flitterina Unicorn is a cute and cuddly plush with a handy pocket in front for keeping teeth safe before the toothfairy arrives. Features shiny fabric on hooves, horn, and wings for extra sparkle! Surface-washable construction.

Berenstain Bears Tooth Fairy Book: When Sister Bear notices that she has a loose tooth, she can't wait for it to fall out so that the Tooth Fairy will come and leave a quarter under her pillow. But then Sister finds out that her best friend, Lizzy Bruin, got even more for the last tooth she lost! What is the Tooth Fairy thinking? Mama and Papa give her good advice while Sister waits for the Tooth Fairy's next visit.

This 3 piece Superhero Tooth Fairy Pillow set comes with everything you need to create special memories of the Tooth Fairy. The tooth shaped pillow measures 8" x 8" and is made of soft felt with an embroidered mask and a SUPER cute double-layer star printed cape with a hidden pocket under the cape. The set comes with a "Dear Tooth Fairy" notepad which allows your child to document the tooth and date as well as write a special note to the Tooth Fairy. The tooth and notes fit perfectly in the pocket on the back of the tooth fairy pillow and will stay secure under the cape. The back pocket is the perfect place for a "special exchange" from the Tooth Fairy back to your child.

Tooth Fairy Door & Mailbox: Attach the doors low on a all, high on a bookshelf or in another secret place inside your home and let your child's imagination run wild while you watch with delight as the magic of Fairyland comes to life. A magic door gives fairies, an elf, pixie, Santa or any other special visitor their very own entry point into your home, to live with you. Once your Fairy Door is attached, just sprinkle some magic dust and leave the tiny key outside the door to attract a fairy. The fairies will know how to use it to come in and out of your home. They only come out at night and sometimes are known to exchange notes and gifts with their children friends. In the morning when the dust is disturbed and the key is gone you'll know your fairy has finished moving in. You can leave teeth, notes, leaves, flowers or feathers at the door or in the message box and you never know… you might even get a reply.

Looking for a set that really sparkles? This is the set for you! Prolong the spirit of childhood wonder with these personalized and handwritten letters from the Tooth Fairy. This package of personalized Tooth Fairy Letters includes:
• 36 personalized letters addressed to the special child in your life
• 20 assorted fairy-sized envelopes with attached ribbons
• Personalized box to store your Tooth Fairy letter supplies

Each 1x1.5 inch envelope features an attached ribbon that can be used to hold a bill in exchange for a child’s tooth. Most children have twenty baby teeth. With sixteen additional letters, you will be able to select just the right message for your child’s situation.

These are great ideas! I'm sorry to say the Tooth Fairy at my house wasn't always as punctual as she should have been. Our youngest (of 5 kids) often waited a week for the Tooth Fairy to finally make an appearance.

What good ideas to get something from the tooth fairy. But, all I wanted from the tooth fairy when I was a kid was money so I could get ice cream.

What an amazing list! Thank you so much for sharing some lovely ideas. My son is 3 and already fascinated by the thought of the tooth fairy. The other day he said ‘I have to brush my teeth or the tooth fairy will take them away’ I had to tell him it didn’t work like that but good that he was brushing his teeth!! I love the letters from the tooth fairy. What a fab idea.
