Bristle Blocks: Remember this classic toy from our childhood? Now our kids can play with it too!

I guess there's a trend that when a younger sibling is born, to give the older one a present too. One of the presents that Froot Loop got was a fun sensory toy called bristle blocks.
He was very excited to get these blocks. Back when Cocoa Puff was born, Froot Loop was still very much struggling with his sensory issues, so he wouldn't touch them at first.
Finally, after some prompting and some promising, he got over it and started to play with them. Then, there was no stopping him!
There are 68 pieces in this container.
There's a mix of long and short, wide and skinny, triangles, rectangles, circles, and squares.
There are also some fun handle-like pieces that allow for some really interesting creations.
For a long time, Froot Loop would just build "TVs" and "Houses" with the blocks. Then he started building spaceships and fans. I haven't seen him play with them lately, but I imagine he would still keep trying to build fans and spaceships since that's what he's into right now.
Cocoa Puff likes to play with these blocks too. He tries to build spaceships and houses too but he's really good at stacking them together and sticking them to each other.
My one MAJOR complaint is that we can never get all of the pieces back into the container. Seriously. I have no idea how they got them in there in the first place, but it wouldn't have been very hard to make the container a little bigger so that we don't spend 20 minutes crying about not being able to put every piece away. Sigh.
I do like how great these are as a sensory toy. There are bright, vivid colors that appeal to young eyes. The texture of the blocks are fun for little fingers too, unless you have a kid who struggles with sensory proecessing disorder and is overly sensitive to touch. This is a good way to get that textile input though.
There are other sets available that work with this set, so you could get multiple sets and just go CRAZY!
