10 Things: Ten Must-Have Accessories for Your Doll House

Froot Loop got a big "Doll House" for Christmas. He could care less about the doll aspect of it: He wanted to remodel it and put furniture in it as well as wire it up with lights and fans and other electricity. It's going to be a FUN project for us to do together and I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm going to try a new kind of post that I'm going to call "10 Things". This could be 10 of just about anything...
... anyway,
Here's our house. It orginally was pink and purple. Actually, it is this house HERE. It was relatively easy to repaint it... it just took a LONG TIME. I used acrylic paint and then some acrylic paint sealer to make the paint stick better and not chip off. You could also use my favorite, Modge Podge, but I'm going to use that when we "wallpaper" the inside of the house with scrapbook paper.
Anyway, here are the 10 furniture packs that Froot Loop decided he needed for his "model house," as we're calling it.
1) Media Room. This comes with a fireplace, TV with stand, lamp, couch, chair, plant, coffee table, and rug. Froot Loop said that every house NEEDS a TV.
2) Master Bedroom. This nine-piece master bedroom set includes a bed with a cloth blanket and pillow, vanity with mirror and working drawers, vanity stool, wardrobe with hinged doors, lamp, and rug. Froot Loop thinks that every Mama and Daddy need a place to sleep.
3) Dining Room. Froot Loop INSISTED that his house have a dining room so that everyone can eat a delicious meal. The 23-piece furniture set features a table, four chairs, four sets of silverware, plates, cups, a pitcher, and a cabinet. Yes, it even has the tiny little silverware and dishes!
4) Bathroom. Personally, I would have said that this was the MOST IMPORTANT ROOM in the house, but alas, it was the 4th for Froot Loop. The bathroom includes a shower, bathtub, bathmat, a sink with a mirror and a toilet. There is even a yellow ducky for the bathtub!
5) Next on the list is a cute little garden. It includes a wheelbarrow, watering can, spade, and four vegetable beds with removable carrots, radishes, turnips, and cauliflowers. It is SUPER cute and honestly, looks great in the "backyard" of his house.
6) Froot Loop also decided his house needs a nursery. We don't have a baby in our family and didn't really have a nursery in this house as the pack and play crib was next to our bed, but we would have done a nursery if our house's layout was better suited for it. Anyway, the seven-piece baby's room set includes a crib with cloth mattress, a changing table with a working cabinet and changing pad, an activity mat, and a stroller with working wheels for those walks around the house.
7) I think this patio set is my favorite. It's adorable. It includes two flower pots, one watering can, one umbrella/patio table, two patio chairs, two shish kebabs and a BBQ grill. The little shish kebabs are just TOO CUTE! Froot Loop said that because OUR house doesn't have a patio, HIS house needs one.
8) EVERY HOUSE NEEDS A PLAYGROUND, Froot Loop says. I think this would have been much higher on the list if he had seen it first. The playground set has a slide, a swing, and a see-saw as well as a 4-piece playscape that fits together as puzzle pieces.
9) If your family has kids, then you'll need a kids' room furniture set. I asked Froot Loop about families that don't have kids and he said that sure, grown-ups can sleep in bunk beds too. Sounds good to me, kid! This fun set has a bunk bed, a table with two kid-sized chairs, a rug, two tiny car toys, a rocking horse, and a rocket ship to keep doll children entertained.
10) The last item on Froot Loop's list is the Pet Set. I haven't included any people on this list, but man, the house has to have pets! The Pet Set features a cat, bunny, and puppy along with a house/bed, bowl, and treat each for tail-wagging fun!
Well, that wraps up our list of 10 things every doll/model house needs. As a BONUS, I'm going to include one more last-minute pick that we got as a gift:
Finally, here's some people for this crazy house! This family car includes 4 people, all 4-5 inches tall. The car has rolling wheels and can drive the family all over the place!
In addition to painting the house, I also re-painted some of the furniture. I am really pleased with how it all turned out.
He's already had HOURS of fun with his house and I'm looking forward to more with him.
Which room of your house is your favorite?
