Wreath Around the Rosy... (Valentine's Day Wreath Tutorial)

I just LOVE wreaths, especially for holidays, but I don't really like paying so much for them. I've been making my own and I'm pretty happy with the results!

I ended up making two wreaths for Valentine's Day.

I had a set of wreath forms similar to this one HERE, with different sizes. I chose to do the smaller two.

You'll also need a variety of Silk Flowers. I did the larger one in a variety of colors of roses and the smaller one with carnations and lavender. I also found some glittery foam heart floral picks to add to the roses wreath.

My son wanted me to try to incorporate this really cute Doughnut Scarf into one of the wreaths too.

Start with your basic wreath form. This is the medium size.

I took the scarf and gently twisted it a couple of times, then wrapped it around the wreath form. I hot glued it in several places so it would stay put.

I removed all the flower heads from their stems and then started hot gluing them to the wreath form.

I didn't really use a specific pattern, but I tried to not have clusters of the same color in any area.

I kept adding flowers until I ran out of room. You don't want them to be too squished, but you also don't want a ton of space between them.

Then, I added some pretty foam heart decorations in strategic places. These were hot glued as well. I sort of fiddled with it until I was happy with it, but all in all, I like how it turned out and it only cost me a few dollars to make. It's hanging on the front door right now.

The general idea for the smaller wreath was the same. I didn't have a scarf for this one, so I skipped that step. I just hot glued the carnations to the wreath form, alternating colors all the way around.

I thought it needed another little pop of color, so I found some sprigs of lavender in two shades of purple, removed the heads from the stems, and then hot glued those between the carnations. I sort of alternated those colors too.

I just LOVE the final product! I can't decide which one I like better! Right now, I have this one hanging in the living room window where I can see it from my couch.

How many wreaths do you have hanging at your house?
