Valentine's Day Windsock Mobile Craft

We've been crafting like crazy over here! The boys and I made these adorable Valentine's Day decorations that are sort of a cross between a windsock and a mobile. They were pretty easy enough to make and I even had everything on hand to make them!
Aren't they the CUTEST? They didn't take many supplies to make and I like how both of them had a slighty different idea of how to make theirs.
Here's what we used:
Crepe Paper Streamers in red, pink, and purple.
Pink Satin Ribbon but any Valentine's Day color would work
Paper Heart Doilies in two different sizes (I found mine at the Dollar Store)
Glue Sticks
I got out 2 of each size of the heart doilies and a roll of each color of crepe paper streamers.
Cocoa Puff said he wanted to use the larger red hearts and just the streamers.
Froot Loop was okay with using the smaller pink hearts, but he wanted to use streamers AND ribbon.
For the Red heart, we cut two each of the three rolls of streamers (To make it easy, place all of them on top of eachother so they're about the same length, then use those to measure the next set). We had six paper streamers and two doilies now.
Put one of the hearts face down onto a scrap piece of paper (the glue stick goes through the holes, and I didn't want to get glue all over the table) and put glue all over the bottom edge.
Put the streamers onto the glue. I helped Cocoa Puff put his in a pattern since that's what they're working on in preschool right now.
Then, Mama put some glue at the top of the heart and placed a ribbon on it. Use the glue stick over the entire back side of the heart and on top of the streamers and ribbon.
Put the other heart on top! You're essentially making a streamer and ribbon sandwich. Cocoa Puff needed help getting his hearts to line up, but it wouldn't have been a big deal if they weren't lined up (just a little stickier).
The ribbon on the top allows it to be hung in a window or on the wall.
Next up was Froot Loop's creation. We cut the streamers and some ribbon as well. He said he wanted one of each color streamer, and then FOUR pieces of ribbon. He originally wanted to make a pattern of the ribbon and the streamers.
Using the glue stick, put glue on the bottom edge of the back of the doily.
Put the ribbon on the top, and then place your ribbons and streamers along the bottom. I really like how he decided to put two ribbons between each of the streamers. It turned out really cool.
Put the other doily on top. (It's okay if Mama has to help, but it's also okay if it's not lined up).
Ta da! Here's his finished decoration! It's hanging on our wall right now and he smiles every time he walks past it.
