It's hot. My skin gets so weird when it's hot. I get sweaty, which makes me break out. I can't wear makeup and my face just looks old, red, and blotchy! I was so excited to get a Box of Essential Oils curated JUST for skin care!

Simply Earth's August Box to the rescue!

As with all of Simply Earth's monthly subscription boxes, this one came with FOUR essential oil bottles, SIX recipes (actually, there's a bonus seventh recipe this month!), and most of the extras you need to complete the recipes (the rest comes in the HUGE bonus box you get when you subscribe!).

This month's box includes:

Rosemary: smells just like the herb! It helps balance your skin's natural oils, and also your hair. Here's a tip about Rosemary oil: put a drop in your shampoo to help keep the oils in your hair regulated. Rosemary is also used to increase alertness and is also good for congestion.

Clove: a warm, spicy oil. Simply Earth gets their clove oil from the (less-irritating) clove buds instead of the stems or leaves! Clove is awesome for boosting immunity, as a digestion aid, and is good for anti-bacterial and antifungal applications.

Frankincense: This is a powerhouse of an oil. It's good for congestion, immunity, skin-healing, tension headaches, pain relieving, and so much more. It's also safe around kids and even babies.

Clear Skin blend: Made of tea tree, sandalwod, cedarwood, juniper berry, and lemon essential oils. It's designed to fight against acne and skin problems.

Lavender Hydrosol: a natural byproduct in creating lavender essential oil. It has the same amazing benefits of lavender oil but it is a gentler form. It can be used on adults, kids, and pets. You can spray it directly on the face, used as a toner. It can also replace water in DIY sprays and lotions (this is good because using regular water drastically reduces the shelf life as it becomes a breeding ground for molds and bacteria). It's great for making baby wipes and pet care too.

and a Compressed Mask, a reusable cotton face mask. Hooray for sustainability and eco-friendly!

The recipes in it are:

Frankincense Face Scrub: exfoliate, polish, and nourish your skin. Exfoliators clean away dead skin cells leaving your face clean, soft and glowing!

Rosemary Facial Steam: moisturizes and softens skin. It preps your face to make the most of your facemask to give your skin that beautiful natural glow you crave

Skin Renewing Face Mask: makes it GLOW! woo hoo!

Hydrosol Facial Toner: A facial toner is important for any skin care routine. It helps balance the pH of your face and preps it for the face cream.

Moisturizing Face Cream: It’s moisturizing and ultra-nourishing for your skin. It helps fight acne causing bacteria, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.

Clear Skin Roll On: Please note that this is a higher concentration of essential oil than usually used for skin; therefore, this should only be used for acne-affected areas only.

and Feel Good Morning Diffuser: Helps you wake up and feel energized and ready to start your day!

If you have sensitive or damaged skin, the clove essential oil may be a little irritating, so feel free to skip it in the face cream recipe. It's a highly diluted amount of essential oil, so you'll likely be fine, but as always, test on a small patch of skin first.

Next month's box will be all about soap! It will come with a clear soap base, so they advise to start collecting flowers and leaves from your garden to put in your soap! Stay tuned for what oils and extras come in the box too!

As always, 13% of all of Simply Earth's profits go toward a non-profit organization. This month's organization is Grounds of Grace, located in Springfield, IL. While it's located in the midwest, it helps victims of human trafficking all through the US. Their mission is "to integrate and empower survivors into the community by providing intense trauma psychotherapy, medical assistance (including eye care and dental care), nutritional health plans, food services, clothing, job skills training, social skills training, spiritual guidance, friendship and mentoring, and opportunites to pursue a quality education." They work alongside several other organizations to get free care to those who are eligible.

I just LOOOOOOOVE the rosemary oil. And it's really been helping with my tension headaches too. The recipes were so fun to make, and I can already tell a difference in my skin.

Does summer make your skin "Crabby?"

Essential oils work great for all skin types. I am a serious fan of essential oils as it helps to enhance the status of my skin. Previously, I was suffering from various skin issues. After the use of essential oils, it has completely improved my skin color and texture. It has become softer than before.
